Talk about a huge overpayment in the first trade. Markov stays especially not for Edler while giving up a 1st rounder and a prospect, makes no sense.

No interest in Edler, Kadri would be a good fit for us as a 2C tho.

Radulov - Galchenyuk - Gallagher (o-zone starts)
Pacioretty - Kadri - Shaw (o-zone starts)
Lehkonen - Plekanec - Byron (d-zone starts)
Danault - Mitchell - Flynn/Carr (d-zone starts)

There's somebody missing in that line-up!

Assuming this is a later season trade, the Habs would have no cap issues fitting in Edler, so no need to include Markov (I see that as basically a straight up trade now, Edler is not the player he was 3 years ago). Plus he has a 12 team NTC and VAN may be on it for all we know.

These are the type of comments that immediately reveal someone who hasn't actually watched Edler throughout his career and just checks hockeydb stats.

Edler's last three seasons (post Torts) have been the best of his career.

He's a FAR better and more complete D than when he was snagging tons of 2nd assists from Sedin PP points and was sub par in his own end.

Edler isn't much of an upgrade on what we have. Plus we have enough 30+ guys on the blueline.

His contract and him ageing

Timmonen was traded for 2x2nds not so long ago at the deadline.

Markov is a WAYYYYYYYYYYYY Betetr d-man then Timmonen EVER was.

Therefore, Markov's value is prob aroudn 2x2nds or Late 1st.

Thanks you
