Only so much money in the Pettersson budget

Don't think he's quite as good as some on here make it out as but that's a very nice deal for a solid 2nd pairing dman. Especially with those recent cap projections I was expecting the first term contract to be a lot higher.

Defence looks good until Hughes leaves. Forward group looks terrible.
Quinn isn't going anywhere.
Was the forward groups terrible with JT? Because going from JT to Chytil doesn't make it terrible.
Shorterm it's not as good but when JT came here he was Chytil and turned the bigger role and more minutes and became a legit 1c at the same age.

It remains to be seen how Chytil will do but he brings a whole new element that this team was lacking he's fast, skilled and is 2nd in points per minute. There is a scenario where he has a big jump in production so just like the people who bashed JT when he was traded here maybe let's wait and see?
Nucks also saved like four million in cap and will have 12 million at the deadline to possibly upgrade the forward group now that the Dcorp is set.

I know NJ's fanbase pines for him everyday, but I have no idea why anyone thinks QH will leave the team that he's captain of, that developed him into what he is, is building the team around him, and just signed a major part of the puzzle for cheap.
These are the same yahoos that shit all over him saying he would never be in the same league and Makar. Now that Quinn is the best Dman the last two years they need a new spin.

Let's be real, AM was leaving, Mcdrai was leaving, Make was leaving etc and in Quinns case the guy oozes Character and pride as long as the team continues to spend and commit to winning he's not going to jump ship. Legacy and rep matters to most athletes and the majority of them remain loyal and want to win with the team that drafted them, especially the captain of a team in a huge crazy market that absolutely loves him.

Allvin is a wizard. Absolute steal of a deal especially with the cap going up. The defence is looking stacked now and in the future.

Hughes - Willander
M-Pettersson - Hronek
E-Pettersson -Myers/Mancini

With Mynio and Kudryavtsev still cooking

Willander and D Petey being on ELCs is huge because of OELs cap hit being nearly $5 million for the next two seasons.

It's a solid deal which really does make the whole Miller move-out seem more justified. As noted, if Willander is a player then the Canucks d is pretty good for a few years and the other Elias Pettersson has shown very well in his limited time as a 4/5 d-man.

Hughes- Hronek
M. Pettersson- Willander
E. Pettersson-
As a top 5 could be good with Myers and whoever as filler.

Goaltender is better with Lankinen.

Nucks just need a couple of offensive pieces and for the original Pettersson to get back to his game and the team can be a viable top 10.

It's a valid concern IMO. It has been since the day they drafted Luke.

Playing with two of your brothers and near your parents is a once in a lifetime opportunity. That's why the Canucks can't really start over or he will walk. If they can turn things around to end this season and have a good year next season, chances improve a lot that they'll be able to sign him to a max deal for the rest of his career.

Miller isn't a 100 point player this season. He's not on pace for anywhere near that right now, and he's getting older. There's a fair to good chance that contract ages like milk and he turns into a 30-40 point checking center making $8 million per season.

I'd say Miller has a couple more near PPG seasons but then will be more like a 50 point 3rd liner.

Not a bad deal for the Rangers.

Every move Allvin/Rutherford make is either really really good or really really bad. Great contract, scared to see what's next!
