Wow insanely cheap. If he continues to play good. Canucks will have a nice cheap trade piece in a year

Kid looked promising and could develop well as #2 in Vancouver

Could parlay him into nice asset (Ala the Martin Jones trade) if he has a strong year in that role as teams in need of young goalie may be interested

Vezina Candidate and a 22 yr old World Championship MVP for under 6million in the next 2 years. Yes please!

If Silovs can keep improving and developing then the Canucks will be forced to make a decision on Demko in a couple of years. Perhaps another Schneider/Luongo situation, only this time Demko has a verrrry good contract. It might be tempting to move him if the goalie market is hot around that time. Demko is only 28 yrs old himself.

For now, its comforting to know the crease is in good hands. I think the Canucks will look to keep Demko as fresh as possible as well heading in the playoffs.

Id imagine the regular season will be 55 games- 27games split.

Side note: Protect Ian Clarke at all cost! This guy is one of, if not the BEST goalie coach in the world. He is not only in charge of developing but he plays a big role in scouting which goalies the Canucks should draft. Goalies that give Ian Clarke alot of credit for their growth and development: Bobrovsky, Demko, Markstrom, Korpisalo,

Has shown immense promise at times - World Cup MVP and Stanley Cup playoffs last year. Still aspects to work on, such as high point shots and stickwork, but showing high level athleticism. Quick side to side and increasingly better covering bottom of the net.

Deal is excellent given his potential to actually play back up this year (although you might think team is still looking for vet back up). Patera, presently signed, might also be an option.

Another indication no one is much into offer sheets. Becoming really a non-issue.

Benning would have given him 5x3, no questions asked
With an NMC and a 2nd round pick for good measure

Believe he did well for Lack as well. He was very solid until he went to another organization and kinda undid what Clark taught him

Joshua - Blueger - Garland
Sherwood - Suter - Podkolzin
(Aman or Di Giuseppe)

Hughes - Hronek

Surprised he signed for 2 years, but great deal for the Canucks.

Guarantees 2 years to work with arguably the best goalie factory in the league day in and day out.

Probably a better move long term for him.

Good deal for vancouver.

Goalies are so volatile these days so even if he struggles, the contract isn't stifling vancouver too much.
