Canucks are in a win now situation. Buffalo still doesn't seem to have the legs.So you do or dont want to trade him for prospects?

Byram is 23 years old. You really think you trade a 23 year old because you aren't winning? Get real.Canucks are in a win now situation. Buffalo still doesn't seem to have the legs.
Your top three dmen are lefties. Do you want another left sided guy making 6+?Byram is 23 years old. You really think you trade a 23 year old because you aren't winning? Get real.
So you are pivoting now? From 23 year olds should be traded during rebuilds to this?Your top three dmen are lefties. Do you want another left sided guy making 6+?
If I’m Buffalo I’m doing this trade.
Desharnais will fill the hole that was created when Ristolainen left
was contemplating Hughes and Bryson but decided to keep it to myself and NHL24Was contemplating that and thinking of Hoglander and Benson added but didn’t want to go there yet. I agree it’s a little light but not far off.
If by pivot you mean keeping the same position and expanding, then yes.So you are pivoting now? From 23 year olds should be traded during rebuilds to this?
Elias Pettersson is so overrated, definitely not someone I would want to build my team around, gets pushed off the puck to easily and doesn't have drive. Vancouver is also telegraphing that they would rather Miller and older player than Pettersson.Byram + Cozens for Elias Pettersson.
Apparently 2 available and one who’s disgruntled. 2 Canadians come back home and Dahlin gets his good friend and countryman.
Cap works out.
We definitely wouldn't. It's a BS rumour that Elliott made up off the cuff. You'd have to be crazy to trade Pettersson over Miller, let alone for that package.Elias Pettersson is so overrated, definitely not someone I would want to build my team around, gets pushed off the puck to easily and doesn't have drive. The cold fish act netted him what 20 points in the 12 games when Miller was out for god knows what. Anger management seems the most likely. If I paid a lot of attention to the Insiders, I'd probably be aware that Friedman doesn't do much 'off the cuff' that isn't code for things he's actually hearing innuendo about but for whatever reason isn't eager to float out as a legitimate report.
And if I paid a lot of attention to hockey rumours, I'd probably also be aware that one of Elliotte's pipelines runs through Jim Rutherford.
HFboards might be all about what have you done for me lately, but front office types have a long history of staying in love with certain players and prospects regardless of the season they might be having.
It's no secret Byram (who is actually having a good season) and Cozens have considerable value inside certain league front offices, or that talented players tend to really showcase that talent after leaving Buffalo.
If I was following the breads crumbs here, I might wonder if old Jimmy is getting a little tired of his $11M centre's cold fish act, and is also wondering how much he might be able to squeeze out of a desperate, 2nd-rate GM in danger of losing his job.
Miller certainly makes more sense from both Vancouver and Buffalo. Sabres need a guy like Miller to lead them. He’d be their off ice and on ice leader. They obviously need that. The cold fish act netted him what 20 points in the 12 games when Miller was out for god knows what. Anger management seems the most likely.
Elliot even said he was making it up. Spitballing. Prob has heard that Pettersson/Miller could be available. Cozens as well. Canucks have had interested in Byram in the past. It just comes across as poor value for Vancouver. Pettersson has played at a franchise center level for basically 3/4 of his career. Cozens and Byram have played at 2c and 2-3d levels less than half of their careers. I appreciate they each have pretty good upside.
If the trade was for Miller it would make more sense.
Elliotte literally said this was just him spitballing and he’s heard nothing other than Buffalo talked to Vancouver earlier this season during EP’s struggles. If I paid a lot of attention to the Insiders, I'd probably be aware that Friedman doesn't do much 'off the cuff' that isn't code for things he's actually hearing innuendo about but for whatever reason isn't eager to float out as a legitimate report.

I would, Jt Miller plays hockey the way Coaches and GMs like. EliasPettersson may have more talent than Miller, but Miller is the better player to haveWe definitely wouldn't. Miller has just as many problems as Petey. In fact he's likely causing Petey problems. And he's 32. It would be absurd to trade 26 yr old Petey.I would, Jt Miller plays hockey the way Coaches and GMs like. EliasPettersson may have more talent than Miller, but Miller is the better player to have
how about Power - Pettersson as the center of a trade - Adjust as neededTo Van
Bo Byram
Jason Zucker
To Buffalo
Jonathan Lekkerimaki
Vincent Desharnais

I’d prefer to keep Pettersson over Miller, age and talent suggest Pettersson is the safer bet for long term success.
To Buffalo:
Miller
Hoglander
Brannstrom
To Vancouver:
Cozens
Byram
Greenway at 50%
Although I’d prefer to keep Brannstrom as he has shown to rebound in Vancouver, to get the upgrade to Byram would be preferable. Greenway is a player that the Canucks have been linked to in the past so I don’t see them being uninterested in him.
No worries, why would Miller waive for Buffalo?Where do I sign for a 32 year old with history of having issue with teammates and who could at anytime say I need a month or 2 off for personal reasons.
No thanks.

I thought it was Mitts, but Cozens probably was too, and he also has an adopted son, Benson, now.So glad Vancouver has the scoop on who is or is not disgruntled in another city. Dahlin's bestie on the team has reportedly been Cozens for years -they've both talked about it - so if that's the angle... nah. If we're talking people he spends cottage time with in the off-season, might want to try to get Marcus Raymond out of Detroit first.

I'm for any movement, but Sharks won't give Granlund away cheaply now, and Kevyn won't overpay for rental. He and Mitts were roommates up until the summer of 2023 when Dahlin and his GF bought the house out in the burbs. Cozens mentioned thinking of Dahlin like his brother.
I doubt they deal Cozens. They might try something like trying to pick/prospect their way into someone like Granlund from San Jose. It isn't the time for blockbusters, especially for contending teams like Vancouver.
