What has Power done that gives you the impression that he will be a Norris winning F like Hedman?Yes it is. I like power better moving forward. It’s like asking who you would have rather had in 2012, Bobby Ryan, or Victor Hedman.
this is all about projection for me.
Power is both.
Bratt is no KaprizovI too would pick Lafreniere over Kaprizov
Hes referring that Power went first overall, and that the first overall pick isnt always the best choice as Kaprizov was drafted in the 5th round. Power has potential to be great but hes got a of developing left to do.Bratt is no Kaprizov
Look at the big boy hockey played by the top clubs in the players and decide which of Bratt or Power is better able to handle that kind of game.I know this is super random, but a few of us were having a discussion between who we'd rather have given age, position and quality of player. was interested in some more opinions!
GotchaHes referring that Power went first overall, and that the first overall pick isnt always the best choice as Kaprizov was drafted in the 5th round. Power has potential to be great but hes got a of developing left to do.

Also Bratt is much better than Ryan ever was, so weird comparison on both sides.
Because Hedman actually played defenseHedman’s first 3 seasons: 214GP, 69 points, -9
Power’s first 3 seasons: 242GP, 111 points, +8
Both late birthdays.
why is it so inconceivable that a former first overall pick can be a #1 D and a future Norris winner? I swear some people can’t comprehend players get better over time, it’s not always about here and now…
So basically your entire reasoning for picking Power over Bratt is because another guy one time became really good later on?Hedman’s first 3 seasons: 214GP, 69 points, -9

My reasoning is that the best defender from the 2021 draft class is only going to continue to improve, as he has done season, after season. If he were on another team that isn’t Buffalo, he’d be getting a lot of praise but unfortunately for him, he’s on one of the worst run franchises in sport. So basically your entire reasoning for picking Power over Bratt is because another guy one time became really good later on?
What the hell kind of reasoning is that? What has Power himself done to show you he will reach Norris level in a couple years besides be drafted 1st overall ?
203gp - 91pts, -16
This is another big 1st overall pick during his first 3 seasons…. His name is Erik Johnson. How many Norris seasons did he have again?
Power is a + player since joining Buffalo. That speaks volumes.Because Hedman actually played defense
Brother I’m not even sure he’s top 3My reasoning is that the best defender from the 2021 draft class is only going to continue to improve, as he has done season, after season. If he were on another team that isn’t Buffalo, he’d be getting a lot of praise but unfortunately for him, he’s on one of the worst run franchises in sport.
I see some Victor Hedman in him, and even a Dollar General Victor Hedman is more valuable than a one dimensional winger. That’s my reasoning. Not everyone is going to agree with you about your favourite players.
So why didn’t Erik Johnson keep continuing to improve to become a Norris calibre D?My reasoning is that the best defender from the 2021 draft class is only going to continue to improve, as he has done season, after season. Sure, but Power isn't the best defender from the 2021 draft. My reasoning is that the best defender from the 2021 draft class is only going to continue to improve, as he has done season, after season. I don’t know why Johnson didn’t work out. Didn’t follow hockey back then. So can’t comment because I don’t have an opinion. So why didn’t Erik Johnson keep continuing to improve to become a Norris calibre D?
Why isn’t Lafrenière continuing to improve and become an elite forward?
Also both Hughes and Edvinsson have been better than Power.
also one dimensional winger is such a hilariously bad description of Bratt![]()
I disagree, it’s close to be honest, and Power’s ceiling as a 6’6” anchorSure, but Power isn't the best defender from the 2021 draft.
That’s your opinion, It’s going to look silly in 3 years time though. I take the player with draft pedigree, size, skating and massive potential.Brother I’m not even sure he’s top 3
Johnson didn’t work out because he wasn’t that good. It’s that simple.I don’t know why Johnson didn’t work out. Didn’t follow hockey back then. So can’t comment because I don’t have an opinion.
They have NOT been better than Power in my opinion. Power had 9 more points than Edvinsson this season on a worse team while playing behind both Dahlin and Byram. Dahlin is a top-5 defender in the NHL, too!
Once Byram gets moves this off season you’re going to see a jump in Power’s performances. And people like you will look like fools for doubting him.
I disagree, it’s close to be honest, and Power’s ceiling as a 6’6” anchor
that can chip in offence makes me have him as the best moving forward.

I was around when Hedman was young. Many called him a bust and had no idea what he would turn into. In many ways, he was very similar to power.I’m Comparing Power to Hedman certainly is something...
How can you say with such conviction that Power, a player who has produced better, and better year over year since making the NHL isn’t going to get better?Johnson didn’t work out because he wasn’t that good. It’s that simple.
Same applies to Power so far.
Your entire reasoning for picking a guy is because he was drafted 1st overall and another guy ended up good one time too.
It’s very strange.
Because defensively he's still worse than Jesper Bratt with no signs of improvement. How can you say with such conviction that Power, a player who has produced better, and better year over year since making the NHL isn’t going to get better?
Pretty dumb hill to die on, if you ask me.
Hes very slightly improved, which is fully expected as a young guy, but is still massively behind a defensively sound PPG + winger who’s only 4 years older. How can you say with such conviction that Power, a player who has produced better, and better year over year since making the NHL isn’t going to get better?
Pretty dumb hill to die on, if you ask me.
