He’s probably not re-signing. Either accept your losses with Hughes and blow it up now or go all-in (trade prospects and the 1st) and try to win in the next two years.
Nemec and Silayev is tempting if Hughes is in danger of being Matt Tkachuk but the Russian factor.Man, even the NY POST is in on it

He apparently hasn’t even said anything to Canucks’ management about playing alongside his brothers, JR was just speculating that could be a motivating factor for him if the Canucks can’t turn things around quickly.

I'm curious what the Crackpipes might offer, three hours to the south of us. You going to run Beniers, Wright and Catton down the middle? Surely they could include one of them in a deal. Ronnie Franchise is stockpiling assets down there and he has a long relationship with the old man. Sooner or later the fans want to win.

If the Devils match, they can't afford Quinn. If they don't match, Quinn stays. Whatever the Canucks pay bother Hughes brothers, deduct the 5M-6M that Luke should have been paid, and the remaining cap is the cost to keep Quinn.
The other factor is that it would plant seeds of doubt within the family and tear the three apart. If the other two brothers pressure Luke not to take it so that the three of them can play together, he's never seeing 11.4M again. It would take like 3 months, maybe Patrik Allvin dresses up like a woman (like Bugs bunny did) and tries to get into one of their ears about how they are the real star.
Ultimately the resentment and turmoil will result in Quinn signing a 5x5 type contract with the Canucks just to prove a point to Luke.

Luke is not offer sheet eligible, and secondly do you think that just because a team makes an offer sheet available it is in effect? The player has to agree to it and do you really think Luke is going to sign an offer sheet and leave Jack behind?

Yeah his reading comprehension is sketchy. One of the three skilled centres, a 2025 first and a salary like Scwartz gets it done.
Detroit is an option as well. Better than the dryer lint and skin tags offered up by the Swamp Creatures.

It's pretty clear we are never going to agree on this whole situation. As a devils fan I'm willing to roll the dice and see what Quinn does in two years if our package around one of our blue chip d prospects and Mercer and picks isn't enough.
I respect the Canucks and their fans if they think that is light and want to look elsewhere.
Time will tell who will be right in this situation.

If Seattle wants to start winning to ensure the fanbase remains engaged, there’s no better player to do so than Quinn Hughes. If it doesn’t work out and he’s not willing to stay, his value at the trade deadline in 2 years is still likely huge for a rental.
