Much rather have Casey and they can keep Mercer. Mercer sucks.
I’m sure Devils would gladly do 2 1sts and Casey over Mercer + Nemec lol

Mercer doesn't suck, he just isn't what people hoped he would be, he's a 20 goal guy. He's good on the PK and a never ending motor. He's a solid depth player just not the top 6 guy people thought he was going to be.Much rather have Casey and they can keep Mercer. Mercer sucks.
Lots of Cope here. Quinn's on the way to Jersey City to join the brothers. Next!So much wrong with this and so disingenuous.
First off the devil's are a team that got undeserved hype a few years ago then failed to make the playoffs and then had a mediocre year finished by a pathetic 1st round loss, not exactly an upward trajectory.
The devil's had what five more points than the nucks despite the numerous injuries including our goalie for 70 games and being forced to trade our 2nd best 100 point forward than losing the guy we traded for and our #1 centre playing healthy again for the rest of the year one point out of the playoffs.
The Canucks will be a much better team next year for the simple fact Demko is healthy and we rebuilt our Dcorp and it's one of the strongest to go along with what should be a top five goalie tandem.
The team has 20+ million with only two forward spots to fill along with plenty of assets to pull a trade.
The devil's have an injury prone #1 centre, a bunch of trades that didn't really work out and unreliable goaltending and let's be honest all those high picks haven't exactly lit the league on fire.
So what why exactly would Quinn want to leave the team in a beautiful city that adores him, made him captain and he's built a life in?
Wouldn't it be fair to say that Jack could just as easily go to UFA and come here followed by Luke?
Stupid right? Just like it's stupid that people think Quinn would do the same when at his age in all the years we've never seen it. When they are old and on their last contract sure but not now.
Besides Quinn literally said his #1 goal is to win with the team that drafted him and made him captain, just like Jack and Nico.
End of the day it's funny that a devil's fan who's team literally made the playoffs than didn't because of goaltending and then had a season barely better than ours despite all that happened feels you guys are a superior team now or more importantly two years from now, or you think that shitty offer would get the 2nd best Dman at worst with two years remaining at 8 million.
Lol 2027 picks? If Canucks trade Hughes this offseason, they’ll get better offers from other teams.I think there is a pretty solid chance that Quinn Hughes gets dealt to the Devils this summer.
And if it happens, I could see it being a 3-way trade that involves Hamilton going to another team.
Something like:
To New Jersey
Quinn Hughes
To Vancouver
2027 1st round pick
2027 2nd round pick
Seamus Casey/Simon Nemec
Erik Haula
Lenni Hameenaho
Asset from 3rd team for Hamilton
To 3rd team
Dougie Hamilton
Yikes you need a nap!So much wrong with this and so disingenuous.

Not even 2025 picks? Again, if Hughes is dealt this offseason, with 2 full years left on his deal, other teams will make better offers than New Jersey. My bad - meant 2026 picks.... I forget what year we're in LOL

With or without Quinn coming yet I feel like the Devils need to move on from Dougie asap. And I’m a big fan of his. He’s just too much of a liability to win with. Especially when he’s not scoring.I don’t think there’s a chance Quinn is moved this summer. The overall package makes sense to me though. Ideally to me you’d be able to move Dougie without needing to use Vancouver and would instead use Vancouver to retain on Palat and reroute him to a 3rd team.

I'd say the odds of him getting traded just went up to 40-50% with the Tocchet news. He has very, very few reasons to stick around when this team ranks near or at the bottom of the league for desirability. And that says something, because they play in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
But it's expensive as f***, the future looks questionable at best, the owners are f***ing morons and then you have the whole Canadian media circus issue as well. I'd be willing to bet most players will have the Canucks on their no trade lists. I certainly would.

They can, but why not get him now and not waste 2 years of your other stars primes?Well I don't know if thats guaranteed but point taken.
If a “nice NJ haul” is anything that’s been mentioned in this thread I would trade him elsewhere or just keep him and see if be can be convinced to re-sign.They can, but why not get him now and not waste 2 years of your other stars primes?
I have a good feeling VAN trades him this summer for a nice NJ haul. Only thing that is going to stop it is their owner.
Yah, but Hughes would probably say no elsewhere. His final destination is going to be NJ. What a lucky team. Going to get a dman like Hughes b/c he wants to play with his bros. I still cannot fathom why Jim would say that publicly. He ruined his leverage. MindbogglingIf a “nice NJ haul” is anything that’s been mentioned in this thread I would trade him elsewhere or just keep him and see if be can be convinced to re-sign.

To NJ
Quinn Hughes
To Van
Jack Hughes
Luke Hughes
I believe this is fair

Well yea, that’s what I was saying. And if the Canucks get a better package somehow outside the Devils, so be it.
I know, but the Canucks are already looking like one of the worst run franchises these days. You think their optics will look good for future players if they just chuck him elsewhere instead of where he wants to go?He has no say, he doesn’t have trade protection.
