This. I actually think the people that are double vaxxed are still more scared than the unvaxxed. Actually makes no sense.

A lot of people, myself included, are vaxxed but still cautious.

I'm starting to do more and more, but at the same time the less optional exposure I have, the lower the risk to myself and others.

Continuing to take precautions and avoid unnecessary contact, whether vaccinated or not, will contribute to reduction in covid spread, however minuscule the risk is. We need to start returning to our lives, but being mindful and finding a middle ground is in everyone's best interest.

Maybe your friend is on the extreme side of things, but if it works for them for now then they shouldn't be vilified.

TBH at this point if you're not vaccinated, the excuse of side effects and vaccine being too new is invalid. It's been available to us for 4 months and a lot of people have taken theirs. If you are still hesitant then you don't deserve to go to Leaf/Raptor games. You're putting others at risk for not being vaccinated.

You’d have to be pretty thick and selfish not to get vaccinated, IMO.

IMO, the whole discussion shouldn’t be allowed on a hockey board.

I have to agree. We're not really talking about the game of hockey here.

Does anyone remember when Burke's son came out ? It was an interesting discussion for people, but it really had nothing to do with the Leafs.

Being cautious just seems sensible, and that's what I'm doing. Some people though ... I've seen people driving alone in their cars wearing masks, that's just weird.

I agree but maybe they're Uber drivers on their way to pick up the next passenger haha

How are unvaccinated people putting others at risk? If you're vaccinated, you can still carry and transmit COVID just like an unvaccinated person can. The only difference is the vaccine lessens your symptoms.

Here we go...

__________

The vaccinated and the unvaccinated are all at risk in this pandemic.

No expert believes that being double vaccinated means invincible.

The unvaccinated could be hospitalized or die if they catch the virus. The vaccinated are the same accept more likely (not 100%) they will have mild symptoms. If "the heard" is negative or double vaccinated at a Leafs Game then the likelihood of being hospitalized is very slim. If people are wearing masks and sanitizing their hands at the game then the chances are even more slim. Ultimately we as leaf fans want hockey to continue. We want to see fans in the building. The government wants life, progress, the economy, etc to move on/move forward.

Don't worry though. You have a choice. You may stay unvaccinated as long as you like. You just have to live with more caution: mask wearing, shut-in, closed bubble, work from home, play a game of checkers against yourself, etc. If you want to see the Leafs then you need a negative test.

The Orange Man was a genius to expedite these vaccines. I've got to reluctantly admit that the old degenerate was a good leader.

Seems reasonable.

Even is you get it during the game if you're vaccinated you're unlikely to end up in hospital, where over 90% of the COVID-19 patients are unvaccinated.

Players being fully vaccinated will keep them safe, and less odds of them getting it if the fans are safe.

There are a couple holes to evaluating this on purely vaccinated vs. unvaccinated.

1) The percentage of getting severe symptoms in the low vaccine administered age groups is extremely low
2) Policy across the whole country is not uniform where being unvaccinated is a detriment. You have the public sector and a few corporations starting to roll-out guidelines. The issue is there likely be a lot of hesitancy/individuals seeking exemptions. From a Charter of Rights standpoint it is a bit of grey zone in terms of forcing people. However, obstacles can be created i.e. not going to a Leaf game. Masking wearing is irrelevant and will be a stable across both vaxxed and unvaccinated. Unvaccinated people do not care about closed bubbles.. they'll continue to see friends and work within the pockets of the system. Again the key is uniform policy and quite frankly Canada has always been a disaster in this manner.
