Going to be interesting to see the direction, that should shortly become more clear... Lots of stars potentially available from teams knocked out. The issue we have with sign and trades and combining multiple players for a bigger star is we already lack depth.. And with so much uncertainty around the direction of the roster, how does a head coach sign on not knowing if you are aiming to win or rebuild? I do not think the future is as grim as most fans think, but its definitely at a cross roads.

Honestly, if we could move Siakim and OG and get top 5 picks and filler, then move GTJ for a similar contract in a sign and trade and re-sign FVV, that's a retool on the fly that likely fixes all of our depth issues instantly.

Don’t like Boston, of course, but it would have been neat to see history last night. Oh well, I guess 0-3 comeback will never happen in the NBA. Happy for Lowry, though, being back in the finals. I hope he gets a 2nd ring. I think he is a hall of famer.

After parting ways with Nick Nurse, the Toronto Raptors have been searching for their next coach. One of the finalists is reportedly a famous European.

According to Andrea Tosi from the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Virtus Segafredo Bologna head coach Sergio Scariolo is among the Top 3 candidates to replace Nurse.

The outlet reports that a final meeting is about to be held to determine whether Scariolo will be the new Raptors head coach.

Scariolo signed a three-year deal with Virtus back in 2021 but talks about his possible move to the NBA have recently intensified. The veteran coach had a meeting with the representatives of the Raptors organization in Bologna several weeks ago.

"It was a good meeting, almost all of them were my friends because I won a championship there," he later said.

Scariolo has already worked as a Raptors assistant coach from 2018 until 2021.

I think last night pretty much solidified that a 0-3 comeback will never happen in NBA. If the Celtics couldn't do it as the heavy favourite in the series, heavy favourite in game 7, #2 seed vs #8 seed and having home court in game 7 then I'm not sure anyone ever will. With that being said, Tatum not f***ing his ankle in the first minute of the game probably would've made this one a bit closer.

A name to watch in Toronto's slower-moving-than-most coaching search, says one league source, is Sacramento Kings associate head coach Jordi Fernández.

If its Scariolo, then no rebuild likely. Which would be a huge mistake. Write this team off for 3+ seasons minimum at that point.

Rebuilding in basketball isn't the same as rebuilding in other sports. Only 2 rounds in their draft so not many picks to try and develop, especially late round picks people might overlook. It's rare you find a legit superstar even with a lottery pick in the draft because a lot of drafts aren't full of talented players. Next years draft isn't the strongest draft according to most basketball experts/insiders and this years draft is. If we trade Siakim for that 3rd or 4th pick then I'd say that pick is as good as a 1st overall pick in most drafts tbh. Draft 2 good players at 3 or 4 and at 13. I'd say that's just as good as a full rebuild since we still got Barnes and OG. Scariolo is pretty crazy when it comes to running many sets apparently on offence and defence to confuse teams and that's why the Spanish national team has been so successful and he'd only make players like Barnes and OG even better imo.
