Agbaji was a lottery pick two years ago. Plus unlike Kira Lewis Jr he’s actually proven he can play in the NBA.
Agbaji was 14th overall pick in 2022, 23 years old
Kira Lewis Jr was 13th overall pick in 2020, 22 years old

Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Curious if we’re rebuilding why give up a pick?
They have like 3, and they are late picks, which in the NBA are pretty meh. They added a young player with potential, it’s not like they traded a pick for Udonis Haslem

Dude can barely stay healthy so I'm okay with moving on and getting a more reliable veteran piece back

The Raps have 2 (maybe 3) 1sts, a high 2nd and were offered a 1st for Brown.

They moved the worst of the 1sts. It should be noted that pick 29 is less valuable than pick 31 (say) because while you pick earlier, you are obligated to follow a specific contract structure

It will be the lowest of all the first rounders we own, so likely 28-29th. We have Pistons second rounder which will be 31st pick, and will probably get a first for Bruce Brown, so not a bad price to get a solid veteran and a good potential piece in Ochai. Realistically that pick wouldn't be as good as Ochai anyways.

My bad, that should've been obvious sarcasm in hindsight

Actually, it might not be a bad idea to accumulate some Canadian players. As long as they are good. More likely to want to be playing for the Raptors. There are so many good Canadian players around the league right now. Not a bad idea to target them. Now, would it take to land Shai? :sarcasm:

Also, the Knicks traded for Bogdanovic and Burks, so I think they're out of the Bruce Brown running. Not sure where he goes, the Lakers aren't a good fit as a trading partner as they don't really have picks and only Rui is an intriguing piece that could come back.

Something tells me they keep Bruce Brown, take his option and try to trade him next season

I don't think so. We are weak at C position and lacking good hard working vets, Olynyk is a solid bench piece and should help improve team culture. I wouldn't be surprised if we re-sign him for beyond this season. As much as I want to recoup as many assets as possible, you don't want to turn the team into a shit show like the Pistons where the young guys have nobody.
I get the sense that they see the ideal scenario as they compete for the play in round this year, give their pick to the Spurs this year when they still have a couple other picks (Pacers 1st and Pistons 2nd), and keep their own 1st for next year's stronger draft. We'll see more clearly come 3pm today.
