How does Conley compare to Lowry?

A quick look at basketball reference suggests that Conley is a better scorer but Lowry has better assist and rebounding numbers.

Salaries are pretty much equal but Conley has another year guaranteed, provided he plays 2 more games this year and Conley is a year and half younger.

Lowry has actually been slightly more effective in terms of shooting thanks to a ~50 point advantage over Conley in 2p%.

Yeah - sorry next couple days as in today plus tomorrow, I guess at this point it’s really 24 hours.

I guess what I’m saying is, timing on this deal is weird if Masai’s intention is to use the buyout market that could go until March 1.

I’m expecting a trade before 3pm tomorrow.

Well this is interesting:

A Straight up Conley for Lowry deal doesn’t make sense for either side, as it’s lateral at best for the raptors.

Younger and slightly healthier (though Conley has had his issues as well). Overall, a very similar player. Kyle's peak was higher, and was a tier above in terms of PG's prior to his back flare up this year. You make the deal if you think Kyle's health will not hold up for the playoff run.

Another reason could be that Lowry has asked for a trade. I don't care what is said publically, I have a gut feeling that Lowry may be more than ok with a trade.

It’s a wash between the two. If a deal is made it’s because Lowry asked out or they feel his back problems will persist. Conley himself is injury prone though.

Why? If he goes to Memphis or Utah, he ain't winning a thing.
Sometimes you just want to get away from something more than go to something specific. Clearly if his primary goal is a good chance to win, he won't welcome a trade. I really think there is more to the Lowry situation in Toronto.

Not sure he’s what we’re looking for as a rotation addition, but could be a great replacement for Norm, Delon, OG etc if they end up in a deal for something.
He can the hit the three.

Raps should definitely be in on him.

Is a buyout really enough though? If you want to show Kawhi your willing you need to shake the ship tomorrow.

Sounds like Lowry could be going to Utah, Conley to Toronto and Rubio to Memphis

Or Memphis is trying to inflate Conley’s value by suggesting the Raps would swap Lowry for him.

I’m thinking Lowry isn’t happy in TO. He’s been such a grump this year . Plays sporadically due to injuries. Looks out of shape. If they expect a long run into the playoffs I’d be concerned with Lowry running the show. Never mind the way he’s played during the post season.

TSN is simulcasting a trade deadline primer show from ESPN with Woj and Zach Lowe. They believe that the Raptors are unlikely to make a big move as Ujiri doesn't want to move Siakam and OG and the team doesn't otherwise have the pieces to do anything super significant. Woj believes they'll do something on periphery, but that they're simply not in a position to be able to match assets to make a huge move without disrupting the roster too much.
