People though Andersen was the problem when he posted a .922 sv% against Boston in the playoffs and a .936 sv% against CBJ, both Andy and Rielly are the easiest targets for the fanbase's frustrations and I dont see that changing anytime soon unless Andy walks away from the team, then just like before, Campbell will be the guy with the target on his back once the honeymoon phase is over.
waddaya mean "is over":naughty:

Like Steward said, we are too easy to play against

I agree!

Hopefully when Foligno gets in he doesn't wuss out like Simmonds have

this team has no balls to lay a hard hit or play body in the defensive zone or offensive zone

easy to play against? yup thats true

They're barely a 2 line hockey team that can't afford afford to ice a bottom 6 that makes anything higher than $1.5M, but go off
Our third line was mik kerfoot hyman. Foligno still incoming.

Please explain your comment.

Marner was a complete disaster again too. His PK assist was pretty much the only good play he made.

He kept the puck in on the 4th goal. 4th goal likely doesn't happen if not for him.

He's just been making low IQ play after low IQ play and he is dragging Matthews down with him now. Matthews can play with literally anyone, but if you are an anchor who has the puck the majority of the time, it is kind of hard for Matthews to do anything.

Ultimately, we need a goalie who can make a basic save. Campbell's win streak was as much on the team which has played well for the vast majority of the season as it was for him doing well. Goalies just are not holding their end of the bargain this year.
You start to wonder if Marner has actually been good or has Matthews been carrying him.
Today again when Matthews was off, Marner lays an egg. It will be nice for Marner to do something without the franchise centre assisting him.

The Leafs, right now, defensively are playing like a team that has completely lost confidence in their goaltending and it's hard to blame them...

Why we are blaming players? We were doing just fine. We were up 3-2 and then someone is totally taken down going to the net. NO CALL. They go and score equaliser in that time when they should be killing penalty. Refs should stop managing the game like that. They should call damn penalty even if team is up in score. Then they give Canucks power play on nothing play behind the net. And I called it way before they did that they would give us power play with one minute left and game out of reach to make it look even on scoresheet penalties wise. Pathetic!!! Big F you refs!

If after loosing 5 in row while being pathetic, all we can blame are the ref, we are doomed

We need to stop singling out players (Rittich today) and stop pretending our problems are minor.
This team lacks heart, character and passion.
..... but at least we added a bunch of 35 and 40 year olds on one year deals to fix it I guess
I’ll be brutally honest, 3 of those goals, I think Vesa Toskala snags with confidence. So yes this game was on Mr.No Save Dave

Yes, the Leafs would be great if they had players who were really good at one of the most critical positions in hockey, despite us having no money to pay them.

We can't afford Andersen next year, let alone anyone magically better.

How do we think this is going to go?

I'm not sure if this is more or less concerning though

Campbell has fallen back to earth and been soft on a few goals and Rittich was real bad tonight but it's a convenient scapegoat for a lot of the other horrible factors that have contributed to the Leafs struggles.

When your goalies can't make routine saves, it just kills anything you have going for you. Toronto played well enough to come out these games with 4 points and instead only come out with 1.

Earlier in the season when we lost 6 of 7, goaltending again was the issue where we couldn't get a routine save or a save when we needed it and playing well. The same thing is happening with this 5 game losing skid, playing well for the majority of it and can't get a save.

I'm glad the team kept trying and was playing well to the end. That last goal was the worst one I've seen this year. Felt like I died inside, nevermind if I was out there actually playing the game.

Thornton Engvall Simmonds line

It was embarassing to see Simmonds throw some hits with 6 minutes left in the game. Who are you kidding buddy?
Thornton seemed to be aiming directly at Vancouver boots whenever he chose to pass.
Engvall can skate?
