GDT: UTAH vs PIT Sat Nov 23 @7pm

Last year's team wasn't good enough to make the playoffs, and since then they traded their 2nd best scorer and most reliable defensive forward with zero upgrades. Not much reason to believe they'd be anything but a lot worse.

Let's just hope they stay lotto bad. Team needs fresh, high end skill baaaad.

i fear that time has passed. we are in the tank and we NEED to get some top picks. to do that we don't need a coach that will get us playing 500 hockey, we NEED to lose often. so unless we have a trade offer for sully there is no reason to move him.

Bro you cannot tank if you’re winning. It simply makes no sense. What does tanking mean if not “losing. A lot?

It seems like everyone agrees the team is not good enough and the stars are too old to carry them. So the only way to get better is to lose.

So if those are the parameters, yes, I’m stoked with how things are going. The only down side is having Sid and Geno suffer through this.

I don't care for the tanking personally. If they don't fire Sullivan it's the only light at the end of the tunnel for most of the fans here.

Personally, I want Sullivan fired now, the players can play better and should still have a lot traded but the value they have are severely tanked by a dumb ass coach and a putrid system he thinks is still a winner and adjustments that are non existent. The kind of damage this continuing will have on the players you do want to keep would be irreversible imo, because if they don't fire Sullivan in season, they won't after I feel. They'll just give him more rope and blame Dubas.

It's funny as f*** knowing the Pens were reportedly pissed at Bylsma and he lost the room was talked about openly by Pens media and right now they still protect the f*** out of Sullivan and the mere notion of him losing the room is something they all refuse to admit or talk about.

Instead it's "the players aren't listening to the message by Sullivan and Sullivan can only send a message so many times..."

Like the players are letting him down. That's the narrative right now.

This isn't even close to what they really need to do. This is just existing in a shameful way.
Why is Petts still here? Why was Crosby re-signed? Why the f*** did we bring back Ned and not trade Bunting in the summer?
Why was Graves and Jarry signed to long-term deals when the window was already closed?
They willingly are blocking a lot of their cap they could have used towards picks. They are also hurting the value of some assets right now.

This is what I mean: you’re redefining losing so that you can continue to criticize even though they’re doing what they need to do. You don’t get to just arbitrarily twist words so that you can always be right. Losing is losing. Winning is winning. Existing in a shameful way is some “I’m 12 and this is deep” fortune cookie crap

THIS. Exactly. If FSG are so cheap that they won’t pay for Sullivan’s ouster, then they will cripple this franchise for years because we will have a bunch of depressed assets that won’t get us Jack shit on the trade market

The tank isn’t supposed to be occurring this year.

The fact they are this bad this year is an indictment on Dubas.

I'll be happy with the tank if a maximum of one of Sid, Geno, Letang and EK are on the roster after TDL. Otherwise they'll just become the oilers of the 2010s.
