Utah team name polling opens, list of potential names revealed

Well the Commanders are because of the obvious connection with DC and the Commander and Chief being there. The Guardians are name after a very famous bridge that has "Traffic Guardian" statues on each end. That bridge is the Hope memorial bridge named after Bob Hope.

I know but at this point they’ve been non-existant for nearly half a century. And considering we have a team that literally stole its name from an active NFL franchise, I don’t think a little grave robbery would be that big of a crime.

I think a lot of people in Cleveland quickly grew to Guardians since it has such strong ties to the city. Being from there and a life long fan I was in the same boat at first I thought there has got /o be something better but now think they made a really good choice

Glad Canyons is included, that could be a great identity. Not a meme name, it's something you'd actually be happy to live with over a long haul. The Canyons around the city are such an iconic part of SLC.

But seriously, you're going to be close rivals with the Avalanche. Don't do Blizzard or Powder, it's just too similar to the Avs (also, Powder is just asking for trouble. Cocaine and powderpuff jokes out the Wazoo). I get you have all the ski resorts and it's a major part of the city- but you can hit that with "Canyons".

Also, no "Scorpions" is disappointing.

@rt You want to put your AI image generator skills back to use for a purple/cool blue/minimalist shot at a "Venom" logo? I liked some of the Outlaw variants a lot - would be cool to see the same technique applied to the Venom name.

I kind of like the overall idea of the concept below but I feel it lacks the logo simplicity/minimalism that the design firm doing the branding is known for, based on your research.
