I didn't really believe it before this season but it does feel like Sid/the core is keeping Sullivan here. The fanbase has become very vocal about firing Sullivan and the team is dog shit/viewership is dropping. At this point in their careers the core probably doesn't want to deal with another coach. I am fully prepared for Sullivan to be here until Sid retires

I think we should pool our money together to buy the Celtics then run them into the ground
The NBA sucks, no thanks.

Dubas doesn't like Sullivan. But he was signed long term before Kyle even arrived. And you're right the core was what kept Sullivan here! They deserve the majority of the blame! Ownership as well but they'll relent as the money bleeds out more and more. To be clear, The Core is the primary culprit. If Sid moves, Sullivan likely does as well. If you look what he's doing as GM he's trying to make it so miserable for the core and Sullivan that maybe they'll ask out! OR, they can just twist in the wind and prolong their respective suffering. A bed by the way they made long ago. But Dubas isn't sending them reinforcements no, he'll sell off more pieces off if a player or players help extract value via trade.

Alot could be forgiven if the Pens were at least fun to watch. They've managed to create a terrible product to watch and an extremely unlikeable roster. There just isn't much redeeming about this team.
Yeah, this is the crux of it for me.

I said it the other day but FSG is a real, legit problem. Sully's a coach but he'll eventually be fired or step down. Dubas is a FO nerd but again, he's an interchangeable piece. Ownership? You're stuck with those f***ers until they decide they're bored of owning the team or the league forces them to sell because of some heinous scandal.

FSG has been utter dogshit so far.
I remember we were promised data and analytics and hard but smart choices. And half of this board ate that shit with a fork and asked for seconds

I wouldn’t have wanted to give Montgomery a 5-year deal so glad we didn’t sign him even though I want Sullivan gone…but kudos to the Blues for going bold and trying to turn their season around, unlike these FSG turtles
Why would you want them to TRY and turn it around? That's the very last thing this team needs right now. No, they need to plummet as much as possible. And not just this season, the next three seasons!

Teams can turn it around quick with a competent coach and organization. Continuously losing and blowing it up does not help anyone, just look at the Wings.

Rangers have had near zero downtime with continuous revolving deck chairs behind the bench and player wise as an example.

The way not to do it instead all the way down to studs like the Ducks, Red Wings, and even the Hawks.

But the Rangers didn't continue to mortgage their future like we did. We have nearly a bare cupboard. You just don't wanna go through a long period of misery. There's no quick fix here. We have to accrue top five overall picks. That'll take time. That doesn't guarantee success, however regaining our footing earlier would mire us in mediocrity.

We've been in the mix for the post season even last season (though we weren't legit contenders). The bottom needs to drop out. If you're handling things this bad this early, you're gonna have a tough few years ahead. We've only just begun the pain!
