USMNT - 2026 World Cup Cycle

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Well we only have like one, maybe two, players of that caliber to begin with, so actually developing more of those World Class players would be a help.

The most ironic part of this whole thing too Mexico's issues are our strengths in the midfield and their strengths in Santi/Raul/goalie who legit can make a save are our weaknesses.

This team is just not good and got overhyped by USMNT fans as a whole, not having a single striker worth shit on your national team is an embarrassment

I saw some people clamoring for Sargent today and just laughed. Guy hasn't scored a USMNT goal since 2019. Even with Balogun and Pepi our striker pool is super weak. Throw shit at the wall and see what happens to stick.

Average USMNT fan thinks playing in Europe is the end all be all measure of player talent and we must now be amazing because all our guys are over there when they generally weren't in the past. It ignores the global landscape of the game is drastically different than even 10-15 years ago and there are far more opportunities to play abroad and it's also just a much more normalized pathway than it was when McBride, Dempsey, Howard even were doing it. And clearly, even having some talented players with some technical skill doesn't mean they'll beat a lesser talented, but more cohesive and spirited opponent.

Been getting into club soccer way more over the past year, it's great that these guys are over there but the only ones at legitimate clubs and contributing are Weah, McKinnie, Antonee Robinson and Pulisic really. Sargent is in the Championship on a mediocre Norwich team, Balogun was a reserve on Monaco pre injury. Matt Turner started for Nottingham Forest and they were f***ing hovering over relegation and now they're primed to play in Champions League games next year after sacking him to Crystal Palace where he STILL doesn't start lmao

And yeah agreed, I think the striker issue is at the forefront. I'd sign up for a prime Jozy up front at this rate and he was behind Clint's shadow for the most of his USMNT career. The midfield is very elite when they show up to a game, the backline has pieces but gets hung out to dry with the bozo in net.
