Blue Jackets Sunday Gathering: NHL’s melding of Ohio State and Blue Jackets could signal a new day

The Blue Jackets and Ohio State athletics historically haven't had much visible overlap. That divide, real or not, could be changing.

Ohio State at first resisted allowing the NHL to refer to the outdoor game at the Horseshoe as “the” Stadium Series because OSU has trademarked “THE” on clothing and other branded products.

Saw the discussion on Reddit about this. Apparently Ohio State has been at odds with the Blue Jackets since their inception for taking attention away from them, and stuff like concerts going to Nationwide Arena.

Then I saw that Ohio State's arena is named Value City Arena, haha you are poor

That other arena is a shithole. It’s soulless and sterile.

Back in the mid 90’s when the ECHL team was looking to build a new arena and to eventually lure an NHL team here, Ohio State purposely tanked a ballot initiative and built that arena with private money. Eventually Columbus got an NHL team but there’s been bad blood for years.
