He is logged in onto his youtube/google account when on his computer i assume

and is also logged in on his xbox

and yes those websites do gather data from embedded stuff and even from navigation

I don't actually log into an account on the computer or Xbox, I am assuming it takes the data entirely from the WiFi network. Even though I'm not logged in on YouTube the right sort of things still show up on the homepage from channels I regularly watch, it still tracks the data even if you don't have an account.

When I still worked in the office and looked at HF on my work computer I used to get loads of ads for women's clothes, assuming that's probably what the women in the office were probably looking at that sort of thing on their lunch break
