I just want a hockey game like NHL 3-on-3 Arcade. Is that too much to ask?

NHL Threes was okay, but I had to buy the f***ing $60 game to play what should have been sold separately for like $15

NHL Hitz 2003 still holds up | ProHockeyTalk | NBC Sports

I'm a big fan of the game, but no, NHL Hitz 2003 absolutely does not hold up.

It's a 3-button game, so the gameplay is no more complex than a Super Nintendo game. There is no aiming shots, there is no puck control, there is no stick control. With no aiming, breakaways are essentially a waste of time, so the only way to score with any consistency is one-timers.

Sure, the arcadey aspects of the game can be fun for 10-15 minutes, but the enjoyment is limited by the gameplay being comparable to a 16-bit button masher.

There's plenty to be said about EA, but the skill stick is something that a hockey game absolutely needs in order to have any kind of depth to the gameplay

The problem is that all the nerds like @Mantis obsessively play shit like HUT and EASHL and neglect the BAP and Franchise modes. Not everyone wants to play online. Online play is lame anyway. "I play in Division 1" Who cares

It used to be fun but it's the same thing every year too. What did they add new in EASHL this year?

NHL 14 had the EASHL drop in games, and that was the pinnacle of fun I've had playing hockey games.

So, of course, they went on to ruin the EASHL in the following years.

"You have to join a team to play EASHL." Bitch, I don't want to be part of a team, I just want to play online with a lobby of random people

Do you miss creating custom roster for NHL.

The sad thing is your art of creating custom roster with custom ranking (what is it with you and rankings lol) is irrelevant in NHL today because everyone is FORCED to use the same EA roster and rankings. NTM EA does not even RELEASE the updated roster with all the rookies until a month after the game releases, because of rights issues (so and so played in NCAA or KHL so they can't put them into the game until they play a game...which is valid...but they won't PUT them into the game until a month after they played their first NHL game which is f***ing STUPID)

i don't see how that 2nd part is any relevant to what i was doing 5+ years ago, and to my limited knowledge of nhl games, you can still create custom rosters, just not share them like it used to be possible

if nhl came out on pc, i'd probably buy it for that, but i don't miss it enough to justify buying a ps4 or ps5 just for that

What's the point of making your own and putting in the work for that if you can't share it. Yes, you could make your own, but it's a lot of work to go through spreadsheets and individually rank or put in all the rookies that EA omitted at launch. A lot of people prefer to download rosters other people like you made.

If NHL came out for PC and still didn't allow you to share rosters there's no use playing.

I shared them because it was possible, but I never went through the hassle of making spreadsheets or even looking at others' spreadsheets. I made custom rosters mostly for my own personal enjoyment of the GM mode.

Very on-brand that's actually talking about the loser point, but comes across as a clueless hothead.

Oh, and how could anyone give a single shit about a team not losing in regulation for 22 games? Comparing those two streaks has to have been intentionally antagonistic
