According to Reddit: NFL players should just find a new job if they think it's too hard, while they should also have respect for the average working man because he has a hard job.

"Why do the players act like they're the only ones that experience this stuff?"

What the f*** do you want them to do?

That's a good question about my Post-Concussion Syndrome, Mr. Reporter, but I want to talk about this guy I know, his name is Willy and he's a coal miner. Well, this one time we were down in the mines [...] and that's why they don't allow hard hats in the cafeteria anymore!

I read the past 5+ pages and I really want to get hit by a bus right now just to wash the fail out of my brain but I'm not even sure that will be sufficient so I'm thinking of calling my parents to see if they can abort me 30+ years after my birth just to be safe.

you want to come work on our mess of a project? we're hiring one more developer through the end of the year. i'm sure you'd get a call if you applied and thought it was a good fit.

we've got some front end work, but mostly just copying designs from our engagement with pixel union. most everything is server-side mess and keeping up with various vendor api changes (especially ms and google, who seem to drop changes at will almost without announcement).

I am currently doing some front-end work but am not particularly good at it. The issue is that currently I don't have anyone else available to assign this work to. I definitely wouldn't identify as a front-end developer.

I love DevOps, I like API design/implementation but the rest of my SE skillset is primarily mid-level and low-level. I know more about programming microcontrollers and physics-based simulations using the Unreal Engine than I do about UI's...I've built and deployed no more than maybe 3 UI's in my entire life.

If I'm ever interested in a change maybe I'll shoot you a PM sometime though, thanks dude.

The worst part about Physics was how you couldn't use a formula sheet (or Calculus) because you were expected to memorize all that shit above. Nobody can remember all those trigonometric identities. Nobody gives a f***ing SHIT about the law of sines or cosines or cotangent or cosecant or nerdy ass shit. Nobody can RECITE it on demand yet you're expected to memorize it because "it's part of basic math bro". Even though in EVERY workplace in America you could just google it if you wanted on a computer. Shit, all the f***ing trigonometric identities are programmed into a computer by other people. Why the hell would you want to know it?

I bet even as a programmer for physics simulations you just implement a library or code someone else wrote. Nobody codes the law of sines into a computer for fun.

Math is dead in America. And that's the way it should be. I don't care if we're getting dumber. We need less math, not more. Trig should be illegal.

Why would you also want to use a log with base e? Why would anyone need a log that didn't have base 10?

Math is stupid.

"Hey genius, find me the log base 2 of 15"

Do you know how to do that?

You have to f***ing use some calculus nerdy shit to solve that problem. Or use a f***ing TABLE. Back in my day they had tables in the back of a f***ing textbook. You had to look that shit up. Hey Zaide find me the sine of a 75 degree angle. f***ing nerd. You look that shit up in a textbook or use a f***ing slide rule. Ever seen one of those?

When I was a kid a very long time ago we f***ing looked at this shit for irregular trig values.

^^^ A user that is super mad
Because math is for f***ing nerds and idiots.

I hate math and I never will take another math course as long as I live. I don't care if nuclear scientists or physicists make a shitload of money with nerdy math shit. I have morals and ethics. I would never compromise them by trying to memorize thousands of pointless equations that I could just google if I were working in a science lab.

Proof of how useless math is. How many times have you been asked to find the Law of Sines at work? The answer is 0. How many times have you been asked to find the differential of something, to find the derivative or integral? ZERO. Math is dead.

Even if by some miracle you were asked to find that you would just google it. Imagine trying to calculate that on paper.

Nobody makes money solving math equations anymore. Nobody is impressed by that talent because computers do all that shit.

You can't find a job as a math major. You need to have another minor. Think about that. Nobody will hire someone who only knows math.
