MK and SF are two of the shallowest fighting games.

Fighting games in 2024 still playing like a glorified 2D game, what a joke.

Street Fighter is like a side-scrolling shooter, while Virtua Fighter is like a fully-3d FPS.

A side-scrolling shooter still takes talent, but it's absolutely dwarfed in complexity by the 3D fps.

Some characters even have directional throws that make it easier to pull off, but it only works reliably against really dumb computer opponents who make no attempt to dodge or counter.
