Legalized North Carolina online sports betting is coming soon after Gov. Roy Cooper signed HB 347 into law earlier this year. The bill officially legalized betting on professional and college sports in the Tar Heel State, with the law set to go into effect on Jan. 8, 2024.

Morning Joe absolutely eviscerated Rudy and all of the Deplorables who continue to believe his lies. :handclap:

Big day on the McAfee show as QAaron will declare whether or not he plans to play this week.

"You're literally wearing an Hermès bracelet," Ziwe said. "How'd you buy that one?"

Santos said it was a gift from his husband. The 35-year-old Republican also said he's been getting Botox treatments and fillers since he was 25.

"I will never deny it," he said.

"How do you pay for it?" Ziwe asked.

"I've always worked, Ziwe," he said. "So yeah, my own money. … Like everything else I own, my own money."

Anyone aged 21 or older will be able to bet on professional and college sports in North Carolina. The NC sports betting law permits in-person wagering at retail sportsbooks located within 1.5 miles of any of the eight professional sports facilities in the state.

They include Bank of America Stadium, Spectrum Center, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Quail Hollow in Charlotte, plus PNC Arena in Raleigh, WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Wilkesboro Speedway and Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.

I'm right near Quail Hollow, but I really doubt they would open a sportsbook in this area, it's too nice.

I most likely wouldn't bet in-person anyway.

Santos, who previously compared himself to Rosa Parks because he said he refused to sit in the back row in the House chamber, struggled to identify other civil rights icons.

Imagine being a Jets player and the biggest news story from the past week about your team was that your injured star QB caught an interception in practice.

That would have really motivated me to go out on Sunday and try my hardest.

you can't even bet on your phone wtf

It's hard to find decent information on this.

The online law goes into effect in January, but then the sportsbooks need to get licensed.

In-person betting has been a thing for a while but only at the tribal casinos. I guess that quote talking about 1.5 miles is also related to the new law, so I would assume it's subject to the same bureaucratic delays.

You're born, you take shit.
You get out in the world, you take more shit.
You climb a little higher, you take less shit.
Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like.

The North Carolina Lottery Commission, which is responsible for regulating mobile sports betting in the state, has not set a date for when betting will begin. The commission said betting won't start by January 8, the first date allowed by law, or by the Super Bowl on February 11.
The commission is now accepting applications from operators. Operators who submit their application by December 27 would be eligible to start taking bets on the commission's yet-to-be determined "go live" date.

Let's make it legal and then drag our feet when it comes to actually letting people do it.

States have done the same shit with pot, too.

I hope Robert Saleh remembers to consult Joe Benigno before deciding on who to start at QB this Sunday!

Poor Gio on WFAN was apoplectic today about the thought of QAaron playing on Sunday. :biglaugh:

The broadcast made a big deal about a new defensive playcaller for the Eagles and it was Matt f***in Patricia, lirl

I think the Eagles should let him call plays on both sides of the ball.

Hell, promote him to head coach and let him make roster decisions too.
