Well, my point is that I think the reason for the decline in writing in many cases is because they're neglecting it to focus on trying to be diverse/inclusive and to hook viewers in by trying to be socially relevant rather than actually focusing on making captivating storylines and characters. I don't think it's a coincidence that what's widely considered to be Marvel's best recent project, GOTG3 doesn't really have any of that.

2) other than that the Marvel movies WERE not the best but were still watchable. L&T sucked and it wasn't because of some woke agenda perpetuated by the Hollywood elite lol

Diversity isn't what's killing Marvel, bad ideas and writing is. (I disagree with the idea that writing has taken a back seat to diversity because wouldn't a more varied cast allow for more varied writing?)

Phase 1 felt real and grounded. After that, everything started becoming more over the top and ridiculous, the universe was constantly expanding, until you eventually stop caring because what originally hooked you isn't a thing anymore.

I maintain that GotG was an inflection point. It was their best movie up to that point, and they learned all of the wrong lessons from it.

They got us to care about characters that the majority of audiences didn't know about, yet their takeaway was more popular music and more tonally-inconsistent comedy.

Age of Ultron and Civil War had 1/10th of the hype as the first Avengers, while also averaging about 200m less in lifetime gross.
