Back in the day, the WWE understood that you always build to the PPV, because they had a massive financial incentive to advertise and sell their big shows.

Now, with the Network/Peacock, the PPVs are just another show to watch because they're not selling them for $50.

Ratings and PPV sales don't matter anymore, therefore quality doesn't matter anymore.

The Invasion was a total disaster. Austin turning heel was also a total disaster.

There's no silver lining. Those storylines cost the company (and industry) untold millions.
