Yeah, and?

Don't tell me you are like Zaide that recipes aren't needed

you need them for measurements and standards

Baking requires more precise measurements and cooking times.

Cooking is a lot more forgiving, so you can be more creative and deviate from the recipe, or completely forgo a recipe.

Baking requires more precise measurements and cooking times.

Cooking is a lot more freestyle, so yeah, you don't necessarily need a recipe.
Then how would you know which ingredients go with which, the measurements for the tomato or the spices you need to add

i'm not looking to experiment here

i'm just following these instructions here

that said i hoard like so many damn spices. I have like unopened cumin containers and 2 garam masala containers and shit like cilantro and parsley all lying around

Should probably organize and consolidate them

Wait till you learn all about the magical creation known as a sandwich.

You will be legit floored....
that's the easiest one

but thoe people on next level chef are making high end sandwiches!

Then how would you know which ingredients go with which,

Through experience or by knowing what I like.

the measurements for the tomato or the spices you need to add

Like I said, cooking is a lot more forgiving. You're not going to ruin a chili if you put too many tomatoes in it. And it's unlikely you'll be overspicing something.

Then just follow the instructions like a little child drawing within the lines and don't be surprised when your food is boring.

Christ no, we don't need any of that catastrophe. :help:

But to answer your question, A lot of truly great cooking really just relies on or had relied on feel, experimentation, and trial and error quite frankly.

I guess you could say that's what it all....

Boils down to, amirite fellas??

imagine making food without instructions

"oh i'll just feel when this is done"

undercooked

"RECIPES ARE NOT NECESSARY"

i suppose that's why everyone on the gordon ramsay show uses them, its' just behind the scenes. wtf you think they do when the cameras aren't rolling

"BUT THEY CAN'T USE THEM DURING FILMING"

that's okay, they used the recipes as a roadmap to determine how to make something and that's fine

"recipe not necesaary!"

[quote}Following a recipe is essential for successful cooking. To follow a recipe correctly, you must read the instructions closely and measure the ingredients accurately. You should also pay attention to the specified cooking times and temperatures to get the best results.

anyway...

they are taking the show from the UK to the USA!

Gordon has

And by "feel" I meant that over time as people develop/have developed both recipes/their own skills, one can get a sense or a "feel" of like...what spices go with what meats,, what veggies generally go with what as a side dish, what to mix for homemade sauces and things, what sort of stuff is good in a soup, etc,

I didn't mean feel as in molesting a half-frozen pork roast by hand and saying "derrrr!!!! this feels undercooked!!!" you f***ing moron.. :shakehead

Eating snow is unsanitary

With maple taffy you don't actually eat the snow you short-bus-riding moron. :shakehead

It just cools the syrup into the taffy/melts away from the heat of the poured hot syrup in seconds.

Generally smart people get fresh snow in a lil pan as I said, then stick forks or popsicle sticks into the snow, then pour the hot syrup where the sticks/forks are.

You then pull em’ out of the snowpan and chow down.
