Public transport sucks in Merica

I can get to London, Bristol and Cardiff within an hour on the trên

Or even to Gloucester and Cheltenham

All many miles away
I have taken the Amtrak train a few times, and can confirm, it's not that super fast.
76 miles or so takes a little over an hour to get to.

Of course that's only when the trains are actually running because the fake plastic Japanese toy trains they use these days haven't all had to be recalled for being cheap and plastic

Which was a thing that happened around here recently

That isn't too bad, it's still over a 60mph average so it's around what you'd do in the car.

Track limits between where I live and London are 125mph most of the way though, so it takes around 50-55 minutes with stops at Didcot and Reading

But the main thing here is the frequency. I believe we get 5 trains per hour in the London direction, then coming the other way it's 2 per hour to Bristol, 2 per hour to cardiff and 1 per hour to Swansea also via Cardiff. Then a local train every hour up to Cheltenham via Gloucester

You aren't wrong on the trains being better in Europe

You know when the train is coming and you have time tables and shit

they don't even have them here

The European trains also have estimated arrivals on computers on the train, again they don't have those here

Another thing there were convenience stores in the subway stations

they don't really have them here at least in this city

may be different in other cities
