All these people, myself included, were outraged during Clare's season of The Bachelorette because she basically knew who she wanted to get with from the start, but went forward with the show and wasted everybody's time.

Recently, news came out that one of previous Bachelors is actually gay. So, with the revelation that he quite literally wasted everybody's time for an entire season, I have to ask, where is the outrage for this situation?

There is a large gap between "Attractive" and "Cretinous".

I can't imagine it would be hard to just get some normal looking people.

That's where the Love Island format is superior because they form couples in the beginning and quite often there will be a couple who stays together until the end while all the drama happens elsewhere

Where Love Island has started to go downhill is that half of the people on it now already describe their job title as "social media influencer" before they've even gone on it, and they clearly just want more Instagram clout and to get some endorsements. They've also had semi-celebrities like the aforementioned Tommy Fury who is a pro boxer like his brother, and they've also had a basketball player on it. As well as the daughter of popular actor Danny Dyer.

They just need normal attractive people with normal jobs

The Bachelorette works because it's completely reasonable for 30 men to be interested in an attractive woman. Like it or not, men are superficial.

The Bachelor just comes across as disingenuous and corny when all these women know next to nothing about the man, but act like he's some once-in-a-lifetime catch

Another funny part of Love Island is how they will be all like "I just want to find love" like they'd have any trouble at all doing it in the real world

Then later when they do some of the truth games the guys on it will admit they've slept with over 100 women or so many that they don't know

You clearly weren't struggling before you came on this show

Legendary Love Island moment when it got toward the end and one of the couples split up just before they had to do the looking after the baby doll for a day and Anna refused to participate and told Jordan "it's not my baby, it's one of the 100 other girls you've slept with's baby"

I can admit when another man is attractive, but this guy on the latest season of The Bachelor was a bridge too far for me.

The guy looked like a Sesame Street character and the producers edited him to be incredibly bland and boring, which just leaves the audience wondering why all these women are lusting after him.

In order for The Bachelor to work, the guy has to be pretty hot, otherwise it's just weird

Do they have semi-celebrities as the bachelor over there or is it just a random guy

I've never paid attention to the UK Bachelor but they did have rugby player Gavin Henson on it, and he was probably the most famous man in Wales at one point

It's typically just random people, but the show has been going on for so long that they tend to recycle the people on the show. So if you were popular but lost when you were on The Bachelorette, there's a chance you'll become The Bachelor in a season or two.

That same guy I was just bitching about got offered to become The Bachelor because he was close friends with some contestants from previous seasons, which is just about the worst way to attract new fans.

one guy was a football player which is why they still tease him as the bachelor when he does football commentary for college
