Rant

the problem with the media is that you or me or any joe could go on TV and spout opinion as "fact" and the rabble sheep will believe it. We used to have journalistic standards. And yes I'm well aware of McAfee mocking the term when they want him to be a "proper sports progrum". McAfee is basically a sports fan opining on sports. Fine. He's entertainment like SAS.

The problem is the line has been blurred between entertainment and reality. Getting your news from SAS is akin to getting your news from the talking heads on cable TV. Somewhere along the way, we got lost, and equivocated the two. No, they are not the same.

It's okay to be entertained, I like SAS too, but the problem is people taking entertainer's opinion as fact. Blindly doing so too.

Why would you want someone else to tell you how to think?

Why would you cite them like they were a HS paper?

They are entertainers they are not peer reviewed sources. Sadly most of cable TV right now are entertainers, pundits and theorists. I mean if you were talking about an erudite, educated individual sure but many of these talking heads just spout off opinions for attention.

Again......they do NOT tell me how to think. I do, however, like to hear when they validate my own opinions. And I do watch them for entertainment purposes. You can believe that or not.

Sometimes I AM informed. They have guests on who do inform. Obviously I know that the hosts are for the most part just giving opinions. And if I happen to agree with the opinion & enjoy the evisceration I will say so. And I can assure you there is nothing "faux" about people's outrage today & you know it.

Your issue is you are a pawn of the media and when they get worked up you get worked up and start rambling on the forums like when The View eviscerates people. You don't understand that drama leads to ratings. So it's in the networks best interest to stir a fuss and have people go "off" for viewership

1. I fully understand that drama = ratings. I already explained that I watch mainly for entertainment.

2. If you still are convinced that I only get worked up when they do then you just don't know me.

3. I don't come on here (or any other forum, I don't even post on other forums) and ramble because its not allowed here. I DO quickly mention if/when Morning Joe eviscerates Mr. Forrester & I will occasionally post a clip of said evisceration in a PM.
