I'll admit I questioned the Oshie pick because of his playoff no shows and defensive shortcomings, but the fact that you can use the same shooter really does make him a must bring to this tournament. Happy to admit I was wrong on this one.

Why would Quick knock it off on that shot? Why wouldn't he just make the save? There was no traffic in front of him. No immediate pressure.
I'd like to hear Voynov's explanation. We know how things can be in Russia. He may not have said anything like that.

That's the way I read it. And it's true. quick throws himself from position to position. It's not an issue just shows the limits of twitter.

I woke up and my ESPN SportsCenter app says that the US "upsets" Russia 3-2. Was that really an upset? We were one freaking goal away from the gold in 2010.
During stretches, yes. But it's not like the US was being dominated from the very beginning.
Anyways, I'm real disappointed in Brownie. Everything was going so well with him and then he takes a real dumb penalty that let Russia back into the game. If he barely plays against Slovenia tomorrow, then I totally understand the decision.

Russia outplayed the US 60-40.
And I am not disappointed in him. He's done good, got the US a goal, and he has one goal. Sure he took a stupid penalty, but wheeler hasn't done ****, neither has golden boy parise. The amount of *****ing about brown is unwarranted.

Just woke up and saw the score. Obviously, I'm delighted.
You would think with Russia's skill they'd have the advantage in the shootout, but it sounds like Quick came up big.
Well the shootout did go 8 rounds. Wow, that Datsyuk. After the 3 different shooters for the 1st 3 rounds, it was all Oshie. Datsyuk and Kovalchuk in the later rounds for Russia. Credit to Bylsma for putting it all on Oshie. 4 goals out of 6 shots. Oshie said he was almost out of shots.

ETA: Love Backes jumping up and down after the win.
