That game was so damn physical. I'm glad to be able to watch some of the most talented, intense hockey I've seen, but boy- it won't surprise me if a bunch of these start players return battered and bruised. This season will especially be a grind for them.

The Sabres road to the 11th overall pick just got easier!

I'm sure Vancouver is dreading how their best player is about to be put into this blender.

I'm curious what it will turn out to be for McAvoy. There were a couple of massive collisions in that game, wonder if he ruptured something like his spleen?

There were some reports that he was hospitalized for an infection.

But, a ruptured spleen would make a lot of sense depending on how upper the injury is...

:dunno:

It's an infection.

Edit. I guess a ruptured spleen would constitute infections

Didn't McAvoy also have heart issues at one point? Could just be some random virus/bacteria that settled around it. Has happened twice to my coworker (random heart infection that required hospitalization)

Hagel: Canada 'playing for the flag, not the cameras'
Oh no, a group chat between teammates? Didn't think phony bulletin board material wouldn't be needed if you're playing for the flag.

This dude is becoming unlikeable. Hope he gets slapped around again.

Hagel acquitted himself quite well against the larger Matt Tkachuk. Even on the erratic punching. Won by takedown. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause of Matt's injury.

Really want Quinn in the game, by hook or by crook. Fox has been a major disappointment (might be nursing an injury). Quinn and Werenski give USA two top-quality PPQBs and zone-exit, rushing d-men.
