UPDATE 3/5 - YouTube TV, Sinclair reach deal for FOX RSNs, but not in NY, CHI, or LA

  • Work is still on-going to rebuild the site styling and features. Please report any issues you may experience so we can look into it. Click Here for Updates
It is maddening

Here at HF we are not allowed to have people post links for 'third party' streams and many of the streams that show up on Google are malware city

Now I know of one site that for $20 a month gives you access to 4000 channels including every RSN in the US and Canada. They have been around for over 3 years, they use Paypal so your credit card is not exposed and only charges a month at a time and the customer has to renew manually every month.

I freelance for NBC and NESN and found out about this site from a senior exec at the NHL who says he uses it to see how badly Fred Roggin stiffs the NHL over the NBA on KNBC-TV. This site has an approved app in the Apple Store, Google Play and it works on my 4K Amazon Smart TV. Buffering is a minor issue

They even have the new Cubs channel.

They also have a url to watch on a laptop and unlike most third party sites I get no alarms from my security software.

I did some investigating and it appears the site is backed by the Mohawk nation that straddles the Quebec/NY border and also runs a sportsbook.

All I can say is the NHL and NBC know about them and I can assume all the other leagues do as well. :dunno:

Please don't PM asking me for their sign up link - but all I can say is for 3 years they have served me well

I still pay for Center Ice from Xfinity
Interesting. If they have a legit app why can’t it be talked about? Also I find it odd that the NHL knows they get shafted by guys like Roggin but choose to not do anything about it. I don’t mean breaking his kneecaps but like, market your sport better and try to not be incompetent boobs.

What junk way to run a business by Google/YTTV. First you announced a loss of carriage with 2 days warning. And then you say it’s back temporarily but give no time table.

I’ve already canceled my YTTV sub and started Hulu live. I’m sure they received a flood of cancellations, which spurred the temporary extension.

The streaming services are still making the same mistakes as the old cable/satellite companies, but the difference this time is no contracts and no cable / satellite company hardware to get rid of when you cancel.

YouTube TV, Sinclair reach new agreement to carry Fox regional sports networks

The long, national nightmare is over for sports fans subscribing to YouTube TV.

After a dispute with Sinclair over carrying the Fox regional sports networks that lasted right up until a Feb. 29 deadline, followed by a temporary agreement that allowed negotiations to continue, the two sides have worked out a new deal in which YouTube TV will carry 19 of the 21 channels available.

That group includes Fox Sports Southeast, Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Ohio, Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports North, Fox Sports Southwest, and Fox Sports Florida.

However, that means two of the Fox Sports RSNs are not being carried by the streaming service under this new agreement. Curiously, those two channels are in the nation’s biggest markets. YES Network in New York along with Prime Ticket and Fox Sports West did not reach terms with YouTubeTV in this new deal and are currently unavailable on the platform. The new Marquee Sports Network is also not included in the agreement.

Well F..k!

Prime Ticket and Fox Sports West are really overplaying their hand. They have the Angels, Clippers, Kings, and Ducks. None of which are world beaters when it comes to drawing a viewing audience. I wouldn't switch from YTTV just because they don't have Prime Ticket and FSW.

I think it's time for me to get an NHL.tv single-team pass and just use a VPN from now on.

I am just glad that it is march and the team is in the toilet and I don't care about the Angels or Clippers.

Sinclair can suck it

I will. Kings are the only thing I watch on television.

Makes me feel better about switching to Hulu.

YTTV deserves a 109 mph slapshot to the frk’ing dome

Why? Every other RSN found a way to make a deal. Sounds like the LA and NY RSNs are trying to bend YTTV over.

Why is this automatically YTTV's fault, by the way? I am by no means a Google fanboy, but we don't know the details. LA sports fans have the absolute worst TV experiences, too. I wonder what percentage of the LA population can even watch the Dodgers and Lakers.

I don't know who's "fault" it is but as I said earlier it's pretty jankny that this is happening with no notice to their customers. Ultimately I'm paying them and they're making this choice, so I would think letting their subscribers know with more than 15 minutes notice would be expected. Also my decision to cancel wouldn't be "because f*** you google", it will be to get another service so I can actually watch the games. Believe me, I'd rather not have to deal with it.

YTTV isn’t paying market rates. Other carriers are.

YTTV decided that they didn’t want to raise subscriber fees despite the loss of premium programming. It’s not like they have dropped prices. Should I pay $50 / month for tv without Kings games?

How was YTTV able to purchase the rights to all of the other RSNs other than LA and NY? Maybe they would pay a premium price if they were getting premium content. If you were leading YTTV would you pay a premium for LA content that doesn't include the Lakers or the Dodgers?

I can understand as Kings fans many of us think it is a must have with your subscription, but I bet YTTV execs don't, at least not at the price they are being asked to pay.
