And I just can't get behind these white pants on the sabres... wouldn't be awful with blue pants but the white is way too much

I liked the white pants when the flames did them in that heritage classic to imitate the old undyed natural canvas that was the only color available in the 1910 ish era. But this white on white thing is just awful. White jerseys work best when they have lots of pops of color, putting the focus on the accents and the logos. Back in the day, ours highlighted elements like the flag stripe really well, for instance. Buffalo has eliminated all that contrast in the uniform except for that underarm bit, which is now the primary thing your eye is drawn to. That is not good design.
