These are lines or D pairs that are good but not necessarily big names. The Rangers' 3rd line of Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko has a total of 16 points in 6 games and is a combined +24 and they haven't been on a 5 on 5 goal against. Also, for some fancy analytics they are all the way up in the far right corner.

The Wild’s team defense has been excellent this season. Special shout-out to Brodin who is still absolutely incredible at shutting everything down in the neutral and D zone, looks every bit as good as he ever has. With Spurgeon’s injury again they have split Faber-Brodin and Faber has been incredible running his own pairing, not enough good things can be said about those two.

Boldy on the front end has been playing a ridiculously good 200 foot game, the defensive effort has been outstanding, so clean with his stick lifts and leveraging his position for clean exits. He’s been a true difference maker all over the ice, really really cool to see him coming into his own as a creative, all situations impact player in this league.

If Wallstedt and Yurov reach their ceilings it's going to get very interesting!

Bean - Pachal have been excellent together on Calgary's 3rd pairing.
They're sitting at a xGF% of 63%, have been on the ice for only one goal against, and own 70% of high danger chances when they're on together. They've been probably a bit unlucky to only have 3 points between the two of them in the 5 games they've played together.

They get some cushy assignments, and starts but they're making the most of it. Most importantly Pachal is a fixture on the PK in the second unit role, both dudes are big and clear out the front of the net well. Calgary has been incredibly fortunate that the last few years we've had really good defensive depth, like where the third pairing doesn't kill you. This might be one of the best we've had though.

Yep considering we had no idea if we'd have an NHL caliber third pairing all summer. Pachal and Bean have been fantastic and a nice surprise.

Bahl/Andersson have been great as well.
