Speculation: Undrafted FA Thread (NCAA/CHL/Euro) II

Struthers needs to play more physical he lacks that. Not like hes small but doesnt play big.
 
I see on main board the latest rumor is Priskie is deciding between us Tampa, and Florida I find it incredibly hard to believe he has any interest in us with how strong our RD side is anyone else have more info than me?

I believe that rumor is coming from Jimmy Murphy, who is not usually reliable. Plus Priskie is from Florida so it makes the Habs a longshot, even if true. Would love if the Habs could sign him, tho.

Florida definitely seems more likely then thanks for the clarification.
 
I have been calling for Priskie for a while now. It's a no brainer, you got to get this guy here. Yes we have RD depth but he is a free higher end asset, like getting an NHL ready prospect for free.

So the guy gets to pick any team he wants and he has to beat Weber, Petry, Juulsen and Brook for a job. You think he will sign here ?

That's how I see it as well I think there's too much competition for him to have real interest in signing here and MB hasn't exactly shown he's capable of signing free agents when they have better options.

Juhlsen is nothing special and no lock for anything. Weber is injury prone. Petry is trade bait and Brook is nowhere close to being ready. I get what you are saying, but it's not a slam dunk that he can't find a place here.

Brook could have played in the NHL last year. Petry has 15 teams he can't be traded to so you have to wonder out of the remaining 15, how many can afford to add 5.5 cap hit and who know if MB will trade him. I would as i don't think he will put up another career year. Weber is still very good so he'll be here for as long as he wants to. Juulsen shouldn't have too much trouble being an NHLer. There's also Fleury who is coming off a very solid rookie year in Laval.

Currently we have too many LD's for Laval and if Juulsen doesn't make the Habs then our RD is loaded as well. Priskie would likely go to a team that lacks RD's, would bet a lot of money that he won't be interested in the Habs.

Yann Danis, a few teams were in on him since he was a Hobey Baker finalist. Lindgren was sought after by a few teams as well, not sure about Carr who won a National Championship that year so I'm sure some teams were looking at him. But clearly it's not an area of strength and now with all the draft picks we have had and at least as of now have for the future, it's going to be very crowded in Laval and on the 50 so they won't be able to really go after too many of the undrafted FA's or ones that don't sign with their draft team.

If we did sign him, and MB was actually following a "build via draft" approach, then the next logical step would be to move Weber or Petry, with Petry being the more likely candidate. Doubt he'd do that though, meaning one of Juulsen/Priskie ends up either in the press box or playing in the AHL.
