So there are no planes, trains, or cars that travel to New England for the team bonding?
From Mollie Walker article:

The 21-year-old winger did not accompany the Rangers to Boston and will remain in New York while the team practices for two days in Rhode Island. Gallant said the level of concern, which was relatively low Friday night, hasn’t fluctuated since Kravtsov was evaluated.
“He’s not making the trip with us,” Gallant said. “I don’t think it’s anything major, but day-to-day and we’ll see when we get back from our bonding trip.”

Maybe it’s an evaluation process.

See how players instinctively play without certain parameters/restrictions . Then you can find the good combination.

That's my thought as well. Play the players without training wheels or preferred line mates and see how they do, to expose their strengths and weaknesses.

Disappointing Kravstov isn’t joining the team for the bonding trip.

I wonder who’s decision that was.

Honestly if I were Kravstov I wouldn’t want to miss that, especially as an unproven player in the league, you could still take a lot from it. Even if I was told to stay home I’d want to be with the team.

His spot isn’t cemented in stone and any experience is worth it, even off the ice, even if he were on crutches (which he isn’t).

Im gonna say it. Makes you wonder about this kids commitment

It was the teams choice, they probably wanted him back home where the doctors and stuff are

Lundkvist played by far his best game. Schneider had by far his worst game (but I think he was fine..I thought he was terrific in previous games).

Really like blais and reaves tonight in their limited minutes.

I didn't know enough about Blais when we got him to support the "He could play on the third line" theory, but after last night you can see the flashes.

So if someone goes down we could theoretically do Hunt-Rooney-Reaves as a fourth and boost Blais up with Chytil and Goodrow.

Also- I think the odds Barron makes the team went from tiny to moderate. He was 67 percent on draws last night.

I think both Blais and Hunt can play up and produce, at least in spurts.

The success of guys like that, playing top 6/9, comes from a blend of skill, will, opportunity, chemistry, and coaches putting them in situations where they can succeed by playing to their strengths

Barron also got tossed from the dot 3 or 4 times. I like it. Don’t think he’ll make the team out of camp though

Barron won 16 faceoffs at ES and lost 5 last night. He was also 50%+ on FOs last year. he might actually be good at them.

If I was Gallant I’d take a look at Blais-Barron-Reaves with Rooney and Hunt as the spares, but I agree it’s more likely they start him in the AHL. As long as Barron kills penalties he won’t be short on minutes.

EdJov is right. Kravtsov certainly has potential to be the best out of our big 3 (or had potential to be the best). Obviously a lack of commitment would be my guess if he doesn’t. Because I see a tall, Eichel-like potential center with similar hands and vision. But without the shot. That right there should make him a great player.

I don’t think Kravstov is anywhere near the player Eichel is. And he isn’t a center, never was. Bad comparison.

And I disagree he has or had more potential than Laf and Kakko

Eichel-like is wildly optimistic. He has never shown anywhere near that ability.

If he works hard, I can see him getting somewhat close. His vision is just amazing to watch. And his skating reminds me of Eichel. Just because he has the potential doesn’t mean he’ll reach it.

Just watched the game, had it recorded

-LaF/Kakko were invisible aside from Kakko’s SH chance and LaF’s goal

-Lundkvist was great, he was shaky at first but I like how much he shoots

-Georgiev is trash, Wall looked very good

-Robertson is not ready, could be a good bottom pairing/4D in 2 years though

-Gauthier had the most Gauthier like game I’ve seen. Bull with no horns

-Schneider was great as usual, he’s going to be very valuable

-Lindgren looked significantly better than his first pre-season game

-Blais was very good, Reaves doesn’t get enough credit for how solid he is. Not just physically, he’s NHL quality without the physicality as he has good hockey IQ and makes the right plays. Faster than I thought as well he burned a Bruins dman in a chase for the puck. Don’t forget he’s like 35 right now too, he’s gotten a lot of shit over the years for just being a plug but there’s a reason why he’s still in the NHL and that isn’t only just for punching faces. He knows how to get the puck in the offensive zone and keep it there, I’m excited for that 4th line, could be up there with some of the best in the league
