Bachman, Turner, Overweight (aka Men Without Necks) moved their show to accommodate the Jets.Sounds like the broadway show on Friday at the Avenir is getting moved to accommodate game 2.
McCallum leaving is a real worrying sign since he’s a third year player.Maybe I’ve missed these listed somewhere so likely not 100% official or accurate.
Sproule and Corbeil Austria
Peer Ohio State
McGurn Arizona State
Richard and Plandowski New Hampshire
McCallum Providence

I don’t think any of us envisioned any third year guys going ..McCallum leaving is a real worrying sign since he’s a third year player.
Yes - it was related to an Assistant Coach. He was too abrasive with Cutting after a game and he (Cutting) was upset and after the season ended, upon reflection, he asked to be released (allowed to transfer without penalty). The AD supported his release request (went to Ryerson) and the coach 'moved on'.Pretty sure an assistant coach was responsible for Cutting leaving , was he not ? I’ve had some dealings with the guy and can’t say he is my favorite person I’ve ever met
Yes - I agree. Not because I want the program to 'rent' players, but this is the best 'on par' talent pool to which UNB has had access to in the past. They can't play NCAA and once they play for UNB, they can't transfer - it's a matter of how many years of eligibility do they have.I’m sure UNB will land a lot of “pros” in off season
plus - they didn't have anything to prove having won 3 AUS titles and 2 UCup titles already.I don’t think any of us envisioned any third year guys going ..
However the two that did are arguably the top d-man and goalie in the country , so I doubt it is a trend .
I saw that. I doubt it happens but a man can hopeI see Josh Lawrence is on the move again…he isn’t going to be back with his Finnish team next season.
You guys are desperate. Can't see him coming to UNB after 2 years in Europe.I saw that. I doubt it happens but a man can hope
Agreed unless he decides he wants to go home. I think we will see some guys with pro experience but I think he is well above what we should expect to see.You guys are desperate. Can't see him coming to UNB after 2 years in Europe.
No chance that happens. You guys are desperate. Can't see him coming to UNB after 2 years in Europe.
Duh, if someone wants to "come home", they wiil.Agreed unless he decides he wants to go home. I think we will see some guys with pro experience but I think he is well above what we should expect to see.
Print media is dying. Most small town papers are owned by a big company and the "news" comes from Toronto. The Gleaner is owned by Post-Media, which is American owned.I don’t get the Gleaner but my parents do. I’ll usually scan it for local news/sports. This is the first time that there was no post tournament interview with the coach. This is probably due to the declining state of the print media. I was hoping to read some reaction from Hennigar or the players.
I also didn’t notice any post game media scrums at the tournament which was a first as well. Although there was some coverage of the final.
Fredericton was spoiled. There was not a "daily" newspaper in Canada that gave more local sports coverage than the Gleaner. Steve Gilliland, Dave Ritchie, Bill Hunt, Bruce Hallihan and the late Mike Powers often did pre-game and post game feature stories on football, baseball, basketball and hockey, often starting at the high school level! They loved all university sports, especially hockey. And back in the day, Bruce or Bill would often travel with the AHL teams that Fredericton had to provide coverage. Of course, Bruce's AUS hockey preview was can't miss reading for any university hockey fan.Print media is dying. Most small town papers are owned by a big company and the "news" comes from Toronto. Back in the day, Gordie Southerland in the Herald used to do a good AUS preview as well. But, I have read Bruce's previews as well and they were good.Fredericton was spoiled. Those days are long gone.
