I was talking to someone tonight about the pro potential of Elliott and it made me think of a story UNB fans might find interesting about another #47.

My dad knew Danny Grant (former 50 goal scorer), during Boyce’s rookie year he said “that guys gonna play in the NHL” , thought nothing of it at the time …. talent knows talent , always thought that was a cool story , figured I’d share when it popped in my head
I said the same thing tonight, Elliot has that pro speed and maybe the most potential on the ice.

Not going to lie, I wasn’t overly excited when the recruiting rumours about Elliot surfaced last spring…but man, he is a very good player at this level. Almost like the coaches and recruiters know more than me…

I had the exact same thought . Sometimes I think I know a lot about hockey and then I’m proven wrong lol

Fredericton relocation to Bathurst sounds like it’s a done deal, announced some time late March - early April after vote goes through.

Miramichi is waving their 100km territorial rights , team isn’t being sold … Roger and co will remain with the team, they are simply being relocated .

Really lousy timing for AUS fans in Fredericton because now more than ever you could lay eyes on future AUS players.

Was never a fan of a lot of the inner working of this franchise but man is it fun hockey to watch…. It wasn’t the Tommies but it was a second option for high level hockey in the city

I’d be SHOCKED if we see anything better than Jr.B come along in this city for a long time, Fredericton isn’t a hockey town, it’s a university town that supports its teams .

UNB is back to the only game in town and likely will stay that way for the foreseeable future. I doubt it has any impact on UNB attendance , I’ve asked some of the small handful of people who go to Red Wings games why they don’t go to UNB games and they all say “no interest in watching the team on the hill win 30 games 10-0”..

If the AUS fans in Fredericton had gone to the games, the team would not be moving.

I'm glad to see the handful of fans who think the same way I do about 10-0 scores.

With CHL players now going down south that could be a thing of the past. We will have to wait and see though.

I 1000000% believe that we will see more parity as a result of the rule change.
We’ve been spoiled with wins but it isn’t the most entertaining thing to watch sometimes , in some respect it was more fun to go watch STU play Dalhousie.
I’ve said it before , it’s a “faux pas” to cheer against your team but once UNB gets up by a few I’m always kind of hoping that whoever they are playing gets a few to keep it entertaining… That OT loss to StFx was the best hockey game played in Fredericton this year.
I am curious what UNB’s recruiting class looks like , I’d still expect majority CHL guys but with very different pedigrees.

I expect them to lose some of the 1st year guys, but if they can keep most of their core group of 3rd year guys around, they should still be very very good next year.

Emmet Sproule finished with the most points and Peter Reynolds finished up with a 30% shooting percentage. Sproule and Ben Corbeil led the team with 1.5 points per game. Justin Nolet with 28 assists and no goals is intereresting. Kale McCallum with most shots on net, followed closely by Cole MacKay.
I was looking at old UNB stats just now and this tidbit about Nolet's season came to mind: In 1994-95 Kelly Reed (a very influential figure in the career of Arber "WiFi" Xhekaj) played 23 games and had 0 goals and 26 assists.

Previous year: 1 goal and 27 assists in 26 games.
