Unfortunate for Carson…that line (with Morgan and Dubois) was starting to play really well together. It gave us a chance to see more of Peer though, who also got some power play time.

I’m guessing McGinley is banged up…can’t imagine they would decide to play with five defensemen otherwise.

Most likely completely irrelevant seeing as guys will be added over the break but I was looking at the staff and see Zach Bishop is a student equipment manager while playing senior hockey in the junction so if injuries etc ever came up he is a body they could dress like they did with Chris Becker.

I’m guessing they would need to be in a dire situation before that happens.

Are they that bad? Never been.

Dubois has finally broken out. Two straight games with a shorthand goal.

Visiting teams get 3 full size rooms,
Room #4 is for coaches and staff and two attached rooms that the players have, #5 and #6.
They are all together in one end of the AUC

There is also a small room at the end of the tunnel to the ice which is sometimes used for soccer referees on the turf field. If that's empty, sometimes teams will also set up a therapy table or whatever in there.
Fair amount of space for visiting teams but the toilets, sinks, shower areas and facilities are badly dated and worn out.

Visitors usually park the bus by the doors facing the turf field, the rooms are right there so as far as loading and unloading from the bus, it's convenient. dm8895 is right tho, the facilities are dated and logistics when there is a national tournament is hellish.

I've been down there during the Nationals. Teams are literally on top of each other in the hallway behind the penalty boxes. Fort William Gardens was worse the the AUC, with a couple of real tiny rooms. Good that it was only 6 teams then.

Got his first point in the third.
I was looking at the box score earlier today and noticed Corbeil was credited with the secondary assist on the last goal, even though it was clearly Peer who passed to Morgan, leading to McCallum's goal. Which leads to my question....maybe @timbitca can answer...I assume there is a process after the game to confirm/update the box scores to ensure they are 100% accurate?

Yes and no. It's usually up to the teams themselves to ensure accuracy. The AUS will make changes if we send them an email and ask for a change that can be verified by video.

For our part, I always have a tab open on my laptop with the stream going and will check almost every goal (unless they are very obvious). We also have an intercom system between the penalty box and press box, so it's easy for us to have the stats and scoresheet to match, though I've been known to forget to add an assist here and there (usually rushing to get multiple things entered and just forget to go back and edit it).

But, like I always tell the team when they come to me with a change... sometimes the stats on Presto has it wrong, and the official scoresheet has it right. Someone at the AUS office will review scoresheets and stats every week to ensure they are correct and whatever is on the scoresheet will almost always be deemed official. So maybe Corbeil has the assist on the stats, but Peer might have it on the scoresheet and it will be changed.

One problem we run into often nowadays is with referee's who are too used to doing Major Junior hockey. Nowadays all the goals in the QMJHL are reviewed to ensure accuracy, so it isn't even the referee's job to give the assists. Which means when they come to an AUS game they just often completely forget to look at who is passing the puck to the goal scorer.

The way @timbitca describes it is identical to the way we do Reds home games. Presto (online stats) operators are at the top of section 15/16, we run a webcast at the penalty box counter so we can get another look at goal sequences and compare the numbers we get from the ice (he's also right with Q referees, most senior officials know we are verifying assists so they usually just give us the goal scorer). Having video is extremely helpful so we can be accurate as much as possible the first time when it's announced. We also have a voice connection to the Presto guys so we can update things as needed.

It is clearly Peer as the 2nd assist on the last goal @ Acadia, Reds will likely apply for a change when the AUS office opens this week.

Won't need to, I just went to check the scoresheet on the shared AUS dropbox and they do indeed have the goal as McCallum - Morgan - Peer, so it'll be changed automatically at some point during the week.
