Definitely gives Hennigar a nice little tool with recruiting as wellNot surprised about the women…figured their time was coming soon. I am surprised about the men though…but I suppose by then it will be a decade since they last hosted.
Looks like it was a lively game today. Any of you make the trip down? Curious what happened with Blagden .
Looks like he’ll be getting a minimum of a 4 game suspension (2 for the gross misconduct and 2 for the fighting / instigator) plus any supplemental discipline added on.Didn't go Tracadie for the game but going by the boxscore her got an instigator penalty in a fight with Les Aigles Alexis Aresenault. He also picked up a gross misconduct so it looks like some suspension will be coming his way. Not that he was going to be in the lineup opening night.
Wildcats are not the Red Army. They lost both home games.Been a few years since Gardiner MacDougall has lost a home opener.
I didn't see the game or any highlights, but just saw the stats. Not a good look for UNB. The guy has only played 13 games in 2 seasons at UNB. If I recall, Bellamy (SMU) tuned him up last year, or maybe the year before.Looks like he’ll be getting a minimum of a 4 game suspension (2 for the gross misconduct and 2 for the fighting / instigator) plus any supplemental discipline added on.
The instigator penalty is key; otherwise both combatants got the same penalties, including the gross. Not seeing the game, I'm guessing the boys maybe took their helmets off in the fight to get the gross?I didn't see the game or any highlights, but just saw the stats. Not a good look for UNB. He told me when he got here that he's never lost a home opener. 23-0 at UNB.Been a few years since Gardiner MacDougall has lost a home opener.
Moncton was 2-0-0 going into their home opener…now 2-1-1. They have a pretty stacked team now that everyone is back from NHL camps…they should (keyword) be one of the top teams in the league.
Definitely had expected them to be more dominant than they were for their home opener given the focus Gardiner undoubtedly would have put on the atmosphere/moment for the group.A 68 game season is a lot different than a 28 or 30 game schedule. Not the time to panick just yet.
But did Blagdon win his fight?Basically... Petizian got a 2 for goaltender interference earlier in the period. During the ensuing powerplay Haché got pushed towards Richard and didn't try to avoid him as much as he did. Blagden didn't like that.
When the coincidental penalty to Haché and McCallum ended, Blagden went to the penalty box (afterh the whistle had blown), started hitting Haché while he was still in the box (trying to come out) and Blagden got pushed away by the timekeeper. Then things erupted from there and he fought with Arsenault, then continued making a fool of himself giving a hard time to referee's and everyone else on the ice. He ended up with 2 for roughing, 2 for instigating, 5 fighting, a game misconduct for the fight and a gross misconduct. Arseneault got a 5 for fighting and a game misconduct. His suspension was waived by Blagden picking up the instigating minor.
During the 3rd period he was sitting not too far from me in the stands and told someone "I don't like it when someone touches my goalie." I can respect that, but there are some ways of going about getting your message through, his way was a bit of an overreaction.
Solid picks!Kammerer named captain. Baber/MacKay/Petizian named alternates.
The webcast is supposed to start 10 minutes early so everything should be broadcast.Anyone know if austv will have the pre-game banner raising tomorrow ahead of the game?
