Kevin Kerr quotes:

''The hypocrisy of it is unbelievable. They don't want a salary cap, but they'll come to a league that has a salary cap and take someone else's job.

I make $700 a week, and I have a wife and two kids and a mortgage payment. Here I wish I could play in the NHL for a fraction of what they make, and here they're going to come play in our league for $500 a week. It's really bizarre.

I don't think those guys have ever wondered about working a day in their life. They probably make more in a week than I do my whole season.''

:handclap: :yo: :lol

Wake up NHLPA.

Good for him.... But he's missing the point that the guys want to be in games to be conditioned.

He knows he's going to get beat down by Chelios whenever they play, right?

A lot of those guys in the low minor leagues are a lot tougher and dirtier than any NHLer could ever hope to be. If anything those 3 Red Wing players should be extra cautious. There will be a lot of animosity towards them.

They aren't reading between the lines.

Chelly didnt wake up two weeks ago in a dank apartment and say "Shiat! I dont have anymore beer money... time to get a job"

They are doing it strictly for conditioning. Being paid is ok but they know this lockout won't last forever. They'll be getting their "real" paycheck... so just see this as a summer job.

How come all the anti NHLPA people here are not knocking NHLers who went to Sweden, Russia and other areas to play?

It's been done over, and over again.

Oh, that's cool then.

It's not like he might be taking away some guys job who relies on playing hockey as his only means to support a wife, two kids and a mortgage.

Steal away, Chelly.

Im pretty sure the terms of their deal were that the Mechanics were not to cut anyone from their current roster.

so... Steal away, chelly?

Hey, who exactly do you think you are, going and painting the players in a good light? Don't you know that if it has to do with the players on these boards, nearly every poster only wants to hear bad things.

Oh--don't try bringing logic on the boards either...that doesn't go over too great either...

My thoughts exactly. As tough as the Chris Chelios', Hatchers and the like think they are, it doesn't matter because these other guys will eat them for breakfast. You don't come into a guys house and start beaking off, especially when there are plenty of hungry rottweilers in there.

Not one players from the motor city Mechanic has lost their job because these 3 signed. Thats was part of the deal. So it's a moot point but still you people love to piss and moan about it.

Wake up NHLPA.

And if Kevin Kerr could make the NHL and take another guy's job, he'd do it in a heartbeat

Link?

How did they add three players (who don't belong at that level and don't need that money) without replacing three players?

Are there not three players in the world who belong at that level that would love to have those spots and earn money to support themselves and their families?

That's not the point.

I had a job in a factory in Edmonton making laminated wooden beams. The workers had just returned from a prety lengthy strike. They would not have dreamed of going to another factory and taking another guys jobs, and these people didn't have millions in the bank account. They certainly wouldn't go get a job in another factory just to stay in shape.

I don't know the particulars of this instance... Maybe the team now has 26 players they are paying... :dunno:

But, he isn't piping off about not playing under cap system in the NHL like Chelios is.

Well lets hope he and all the other minor leaguers get a chance to replace the NHLers next season, then we can see all the NHLPA hypocrites bítch and moan about people taking their jobs.

Mechanics management said the team had three roster spots available, and no players will be released.

But more than a few will see their ice time drastically reduced, leading to less playing time, less production, less time to prove ones self. Could have an impact on future contract negotiations.

I hope Kerr pulls a Domi-Niedermeyer and goes elbow to Chelios' head full steam and ends his career! ... their isn't a bigger piece of trash in the NHL than Chelios, never has been and never will be
