This is what I was talking about last week. The main event had multiple eye pokes including one right before the finishing sequence where Almabayev made it clear/tried to call timeout but the ref didn't care, and just like last week the fighter who got poked ended up running away afterwards to reset/recover. That's when the fight was ended (due to retirement). Yet for some reason there's not nearly as much rage in here as there are was for Cejudo last week.
In the moment this is the exact same situation as Cejudo, yet for some reason the energy in here is completely different. There's no hate for Kape keeping his fingers out, no asking for a DQ or points to be deducted, no anger at the stoppage, and actually compliments for Kape's performance. Wonder why that is....
Awful job by Beltran, if think you see an eye poke but you're not sure, you stop the fight have the video review official let you know if it was and then either offer the recovery time or continue. The horrible inconsistency in officiating continues, and the horrible inconsistency in popular opinion also continues based on who is fighting.
