UEFA Nations League 2025

Germany’s line up also looks like ass. Wirtz is a big loss.

By contrast this Spain team looks so polished. One of the favourite for next year

Croatia up 2:0 plus missed a penalty. France look poor, created some chances but nothing threatening. Ironically the loser of this tie gets on paper an easier WC qualifying group (not that it matters much for France but could for Croatia lol)

And that with Maignan saving a penalty and Saliba making a last second tackle

I mean the kid speaks perfect Andalus, and his chances to be a starter are higher for Spain, especially since it seems Cubarsi can't stay healthy :(

Sure, as he lived a decade in Spain since kid, but I had somehow missed that he got Spanish citizenship and changed from Dutch youth teams to Spanish one last year.

Nagelsmann was experimenting a little too much given all our injuries, but he made changes that turned it around and gave us our first ever win at the San siro. Heading back to dortmund with a lead now.

Hopefully the next game we start with both Kleindienst & Burkardt/Undav in the attack. I’d also start Andrich-Stiller over Groß-Goretzka.

Kleindienst
Musiala - Burkardt* - Undav*
Andrich - Stiller**
Schlotterbeck - Tah - Rüdiger - Kimmich
Baumann

*Sane / Leweling / Adeyemi / Amiri
** Amiri / Goretzka

Edit: lol are we the only favorite to have won the first leg of their quarterfinal?

Why the hell would you want to bench Goretzka after that performance? I don't think the Stiller and Undav are in top form either right now.

I would probably just go with the 2nd half squad as the starters. Although Sané was very weak imo, so maybe one of the bench options could be an improvement there.

Because LeGo is unreliable and he wanders forward too much. I wouldn’t be upset if he started next to Andrich instead of Stiller, I just rate Stiller more and think both require a more robust partner than Groß.

Undav has been lethal for the NT, and I think having both him & Burkardt playing off Kleindienst could make us impossible to keep off the board…though I would be cool with Leweling or Amiri getting the 4th attacking spot.

Let sane & adeyemi come on once the Italians are too tired to keep up.

I actually think Goretzka's more box-to-box style along with his size is a win for the team. But I agree that he needs a "stable" partner. I don't think Groß was bad yesterday, he was ok, but in principle I'd also prefer Andrich (although he has some problems this season).

And I just don't rate Stiller that highly. I think he's a good but not great player (certainly this season). I would put an in-form Goretzka a tier above him easily.

Not sure how to feel about the win vs France. The loser gets the (IMO much) easier WC qualifying group.

Thats how I feel as well, while they looked decent in their final three second half they barely got out of their own half in the 2nd half. Making 2026 is more important than another potential NL run
