WJC: U18 Division 2A and 2B 2025.

I see Spain has taken a stranglehold. They've done well in Division II tournaments in the past few years and they're the only undefeated team after two days. There was a thread a few years back asking who the next minnow would be to take a run at the top divisions. Spain still lacks a lot of basics you need for that kind of breakthrough, but they're doing a few things right at least.

They have stability on the Management side which helps. Infrastructure still needs more money. Perhaps move a club team into one of the lower mid Euro leagues.

Not many options there except for French Division 1, don't know how realistic is Ligue Magnus. Spain NT played two friendly games back in February IIHF break against Bordeaux (loss) and 5:2 win against Anglet, so there is some limited LM potential.

It would need to be Div 1, at least initially.

Recognizing how expensive the sport is - you need more than a patch of grass or a chunk of concrete - it's encouraging to see decent facilities in places like Turkiye and Thailand. Despite their geographic challenges, Australia has done some nice things with the sport domestically, but they've been stuck in the Division IIs forever. Thought maybe having an NHLer would give the sport a boost. Too much cricket and rugby, I guess.
