Any stream from Bulgaria ? They usually had it regularly...couldn't find anything for Belgium - Australia (8:4).

No streams on the Bulgarian federation's youtube page or on the IIHF youtube page.
Streams on link FrHockey gave works, at least for me.

Serbia has three 14-yrs and five 15-yrs old on their roster :eek3:

I see Spain has taken a stranglehold. They've done well in Division II tournaments in the past few years and they're the only undefeated team after two days. There was a thread a few years back asking who the next minnow would be to take a run at the top divisions. Spain still lacks a lot of basics you need for that kind of breakthrough, but they're doing a few things right at least.

They have stability on the Management side which helps. Infrastructure still needs more money. Perhaps move a club team into one of the lower mid Euro leagues.

Not many options there except for French Division 1, don't know how realistic is Ligue Magnus. Spain NT played two friendly games back in February IIHF break against Bordeaux (loss) and 5:2 win against Anglet, so there is some limited LM potential.

It would need to be Div 1, at least initially.

Recognizing how expensive the sport is - you need more than a patch of grass or a chunk of concrete - it's encouraging to see decent facilities in places like Turkiye and Thailand. Despite their geographic challenges, Australia has done some nice things with the sport domestically, but they've been stuck in the Division IIs forever. Thought maybe having an NHLer would give the sport a boost. Too much cricket and rugby, I guess.

Chinese Tapei beat Serbia 4:2. If not for Bulgaria in this group Serbs would be relegated twice in a row.

but they've been stuck in the Division IIs forever.
If Blues miss playoffs maybe Walker shows up. He is at one-way contract so no eventual AHL obligations for him. Tyrone Bronte and him could be very potent duo for D2 level.

He can still make it if the Blues get bounced out of the 1st round reasonably quickly. Maybe it even increases his chances somewhat if he can step onto the ice out of the plane basically only prolonging his season by 3-5 days.

The 2A tournament starts tomorrow. Italy's first-ever appearance in D2A. GB is their main opponent but it being GB you can't expect much even if they do have a good team.

Interestingly, both GB and Romanian rosters have a player who moved to play junior hockey to Latvia. The first time I noticed this, the Latvian hockey system gained at least some international traction. Ironically, when their own prospects are leaving it ASAP.

Very, very bad team. Except for few players, rest should switch hockey sticks with school books for their own good. I am fully expecting relegation to D2B.

Our roster doesn't look that bad and has a few players who did well last year coming for another shot (Brynley Capps is a rare one that has potential to be a mainstay in the senior team in the not too distant future imo), but indeed have no expectation of defeating the Italians, and if we're really ambitious I'm sure we could fit in an embarrassing collapse against Croatia or Romania in there too!

China 4-1 Romania, don't know much about the teams' respective strengths but on the face of it looks like a really promising result for the Chinese. I notice Cory Kane, one of the Olympic Mercenaries China recruited seems to have stuck around and is part of the coaching team for the juniors, so he's off to a good start there.

GB 3-0 Croatia, not able to find a stream for this one but looking at the play by play and shotmap, seems like we dominated the first period, then somehow started making a meal of things and only then scored the goals when Croatia where growing into the game
