Well, i think if NHL players are banned, it would be mostly filled with AHL and ECHL players. Then, the remaining spots (if any) would be filled by the oldest (most experienced) college players.

EDIT: If anyone under a pro contract was banned, then I think it would mostly be seniors and juniors from college, with a few exceptions like Jack Johnson.

They loosened the rules in the 80s. Jim Peplinski played for Canada in Calgary in '88 while being a member of the Flames.

So you could compete as a pro, but the NHL didn't take a break?

It would look pretty similar to the US World Junior team.

It might have 2-3 guys from that team and thats about it. It would no way resemble that team at all. And that is not using any AHL guys too.

They were, but for some reason they were still allowed to play.
NHL players were allowed to play, too. Allowed by the IOC, that is.

A few guys playing in Europe would probably make it. But the core of the team would deffinetly come from the AHL with maybe guys like Jack and Erik Johnson from the U20-team.
