No one is a better advocate for a heavy forecheck like you snipes, and i'm certainly in agreement.

In junior hockey it is absolutely fundamental to attack wave after wave on the forecheck. It’s not just big hits, but also winning puck battles and suffocating with constant puck pressure.

Intimidation and momentum are critical at the U-20 level.

Team USA is working too hard and making perfect decisions under pressure. The Swedes are executing with the puck when they have it but the Americans are suffocating them immediately. It’s not necessarily an issue of skill IMO, but the Swedes probably need a flukey goal to make this a game. Edvinsson and Andrae need to step up. That defense is having issues breaking out.

The Swedes need something to give them confidence.

My friend, I’d love to see you coaching at the Minor Hockey level (perhaps you already do in Calgary, I obviously don’t know).

This is the type of coaching we need in hockey overall. Not playing it safe, but taking chances and using creativity.
