Who's the top defenceman for the US? Seems like there is no real standout since Krys is still young and the others haven't been too outstanding.

The US '97 defensive group is pretty average outside of Hanifin and Werenski.

McAvoy is decent and I think Fitzgerald has been strong this game, but yeah, outside Hanifin and Werenski there is not much on D this year. Krys is an underager and while he's very talented, but his defense is a serious work in progress and he's been very lackadaisical.
