Yes. You are right. Makar is comparable to Cole defensively. Good God.
Agreed. Ridiculous take. Makar will be better.

Looks like Radulov dummied Girard a few times then fell down. I see Girard literally bouncing off Rads 2 times. Rads shoves him away quite easily with one arm at the beginning of the clip then tripped over Girards stick and fell down.
I'm not sure you want to use that clip if you are trying to say how Girard can defend the big boys. I like Girard but Rads made Girard his b*tch in that clip.
This thread is playing out exactly as expected.
Arguing with guys who have no clue.
If you think Girard dummied Rads in that clip then there is no point. It's like arquing with my 6 year old son. Eventually you just have to give up and tell him you're right.
You honestly don't think Makar can end up being better than Ian ****ing Cole? Jesus Christ.
Your Barrie takes are bad enough, but this is just asinine.
Physicality. Shot blocking. Toughness. Hitting. Tying up the man. Moving the guy infront of the net.
No. I dont think these things will ever be Makar's specialty. If you think they will then all the power to you.

This just in, a guy in top 10 ES scoring since the lockout is a PP specialist and 2nd pairing D.
The problem is you seem to associate good defence exludsively with those things. What about puck movement? Stick work? Positioning? Zone exits? Skating ability? etc. Those factors play just as important a role in good defence. So yes, I'd much rather have Makar out there than Ian Cole.
It's 2019, not 1999.
Can we get this thread locked mods? One can already tell from 2 of the first 3 posts what kind of shot storm this is going to be...
I tried guys... I really did.
If Barrie decides not to sign an offer with Colorado between the dates of July 1st and August 1st, then trade him. Max amount I would give Barrie is 7M x 8 years. We have to remember that Barrie is not a number one or a number 2 Dman. He is a 2nd line Dman and a PP specialist.
It's better to keep him and the other genius in this thread.I tried guys... I really did.
Your entire moronic argument from the beginning has been predicated upon "well look at the two teams in the finals" and we provided you the size of the defensemen on the Boston Bruins, and they are SMALLER than the Avs defensemen overall. That would be great if we could start 7 defensemen. Problem is we can't.
Nikita Zadorov: 6'5, 230
Erik Johnson: 6'4, 225
Ian Cole: 6'1, 219
Cale Makar: 5'11, 187
Tyson Barrie: 5'10, 190
Samuel Girard: 5'10, 162
So again, since Barrie has no buisness playing any sort of defensive minutes or playing on the PK you guys are ok with Girard and Makar on the ice trying to hold a lead or on the PK?
How am I comparing Barrie to Mcdavid?First day reading for you?
"ThatAvsGamer:
By your logic I guess you'd rather have Boychuk and J. Staal over Mcdavid."
Which is surprising from him because he knows 10x more than you do.
