Ha, ha, ha, sure got some going, didn't it. Just wondered what would happen. Most fans in other cities wouldn't give a bundle of wooden sticks for Eberle, so now he's this great RW. Personally, I like Kreider and don't really know how old Stall is? He's the youngest Stall, right, and Davidson is 23 or 24, isn't he? The 1st was a bit much and originally was going 2nd. Remember, Davidson was a surprise and could regress.

Just proving a point that we seem to over value a lot of players. I would do a package of some sort that included Eberle, he's not my kind of player. Another player that has yet to meet the team goalie!

How are you going to talk about value of players when you don't even know which Staal you are trading for lol. Shows just how little you know about any of the players involved in this thread.

To the OPs deal.

No.

To every other deal proposed in this thread? No.

Adam Larsson managed to get Taylor Hall. Barrie, the better Dman will get a similar elite forward, not a bunch of castaways that fans of teams will secretly be happy to have gotten rid of.

okay, since Avs fans are all sour about this.

WHAT DO YOU WANT for Barrie? Give me some specifics on the player(s) you want to receive back--not this "well you want this, so we want that".

You're not getting a equal-level replacement for Barrie by trading Barrie -- that's not how this works. You can trade Barrie for a top 6 or top 3 forward, absolutely.

Otherwise I would have just proposed a D swap of McDonagh for Barrie--which again isn't what I asked about to begin this thread.

It would make very little sense for NYR to trade McDonagh for Barrie. However outside of him nothing gets it done. NYR really doesn't have the pieces for something to come together. Them and the Avs are bad trading partners.

The main issue is the Avs would need a similar player to Barrie coming back which makes finding a good trade very complicated and most likely why we haven't seen a trade yet. If they move him for an equal value forward they are essentially the Oilers as their back end can't handle the immediate subtraction of their 2nd(possibly best Dman). They would almost certainly lose any package deal so it leaves them with needing a replacement in any trade which then NYR don't have.

Would you do JVR + Carrick + a pick?

From the Oilers, I would offer...
Piece #1 - choice of; RNH or Eberle
Piece #2 - choice of; Davidson, Reinhart or 2018 2nd round pick (we don't have a 2017 2nd).

Of course you would. The Avs wouldn't accept it though.

You want Barrie, we want Draisaitl. If you don't want to give up Draisaitl, we'll gladly keep Barrie.

RNH + Davidson for Barrie.
No way Jose

Fair enough.

I feel RNH + Davidson (the best of both parts of my offer) is a very fair offer for Barrie.

RNH is a high end 2C, who plays a 200 foot game, with a lower end 1C upside.

Davidson, granted, is more of a risk. He is a 2nd pairing LD who, in a limited sample size, shown he is; smart, very good in his own zone, can and will play physical, and has a good shot... not sure he will be anything more than that because he has shown better than his draft position, but the sample size is small (I admit that).

If RNH has a strong year and Davidson shows more of what he showed last year over another season then I would kick myself for making this deal, but a RH PMD who can QB the PP is precisely the Oilers primary need.

I respect that you want to keep Barrie but if you were to trade Barrie, you will not get more than that from the Oilers... or likely from any team.

I know he's in like 92875345 threads at this point , but I wanted to make one of these so I could accurately value him as a player.

So you are familiar with the 92 million trade threads on Barrie, but didn't bother to read a single one of them? You could accurately value him pretty well if you actually read a bit of what is already published.

I assume you know now, but since you haven't bothered to read anything about Barrie before, I won't assume you've decided to read your own thread either. Your offers are bad, quite bad. Perhaps worse than anything else I can remember being offered, even by some of the most vehement Oilers fans. Marc Staal and Rick Nash are particularly laughable.

Bottom line is that by now it's clear that Barrie will be an Av at least for this upcoming season, and if when we do trade him, it will likely not be to the Rangers. They simply don't have pieces available that the Avs would be interested in.

No. Carrick is a dime a dozen prospect that doesn't add anything to the Avs prospect pool.

JVR is solid, but would easily prefer Barrie to him. Perhaps a better + with JVR might get the conversation rolling in a better direction.

But Carrick would be of little interest for us.

yeah, I'd guess the leafs big 3 would be off limits, but choose any other prospect in the system though.

I guess for that return, the Avs big 4 D would be off limits (EJ, Barrie, Bigras and Zadorov), but feel free to pick any other D in the system though.

Marner for Meloche? Deal. :naughty:

The thing with getting two players back is we are going to be forced to expose the second guy . So any trade that involves two players would need at least one who is exempt. It is just horrible management if we took two guys only to have one of them possibly be taken away for nothing.

Like its been stated, Avs have all the control in any deal around Barrie, they have no need to trade him anytime soon unlike what happend with ROR.

We heard very similar things about ROR, and that turned out to be wrong. I'm willing to bet that it's wrong about Barrie too.

Seriously, aahhh, this is the whole Subban conversation all over again. Can Barrie even play defense? He is not Orr, Robinson, Stevens, Pronger, etc.. RNH WOULD BE AN OVERPAYMENT! Colorado should add. I have a friend that is a huge Avs fan, he wants to get rid of Barrie and would gladly take RNH. Edmonton won't do it.

So I guess we have another fan who hasn't read much of anything on Barrie, at least that wasn't spoon fed to you by other Oilers fans, or Oilers media. This "Avs fan" friend of yours probably watches 4 games a year of the avalanche. All of which are against the Oilers.

The truth of the matter is that RNH would be fair payment, just not to the avalanche. As you pointed out in a later post on which you got our players name completely wrong, further enforcing the argument that you haven't seen too many Avs games yourself, we already have a couple centers whose skill set is very similar to RNH. Both of them are also quite a bit better than RNH.

The truth is that if the Avalanche were amenable to RNH as the return, the deal would already have been done. In a vacuum it's fair value even if the Avalanche give up the more valuable position. Perhaps you and your "Avs friend" can watch a few more games this upcoming season and see what Barrie really is.

Yeah...I imagine that at age 51 Duchesne has become rather soft, and he probably has never met Varlamov or Pickard, good observation. Keep these fascinating revelations coming, please, I'm learning so much.

Taking a page from my play book I see :)

I might have to get Roger Goodell on the phone and report this ;)

You caught me... that's actually why I am willing to add Davidson into this proposal, because of that damned Expansion Draft. Very good argument.

It's yet another poster who can't spell Duchene? I decided to have some fun with it. The fact that the poster in question seems to know next to nothing about the Avs but is still trying to talk about them doesn't help.

Why are you focusing on that instead of the responses to your proposals?

I thought Hayes was a pretty good trade subject. Something around Hayes for Barrie... but since that's apparently not enough, what about something around Stepan for Barrie?

Fits a need for both teams (though I am ot sure the rangers want to move on from Stepan)

mostly because you are littering this thread with unholy amounts of sarcasm to the point where I'm not even sure I want to discuss it further with such merciless and rude avalanche fans (even if they aren't rude themselves--you just do a fantastic job of making the rest of them look awful).

ANyways, see the above post. I responded to someone else.

Does it now?

I don't see the Avs acquiring Stepan and making him their highest paid player when our needs are clearly on Defense.

What need does it fill for the Avs? We have Duchene and MacKinnon, who are both younger, better and cheaper than Stepan. On top of that, we have Soderberg, who is significantly cheaper with a similar skillset.

Can we get over the friggin' spelling! Sometimes what you are using auto corrects and it's a pain to go back. WOW! But, thank you, that RNH would be a sufficient trade, but just not what the Av may be looking for.

Avs severely lack shot suppression from their forwards. Stepan is fantastic defensively.

Unfortunately, I miscalculated--from a straight shot suppression standpoint, Hayes is the better player.

Not like I haven't actually brought him into this or anything -_-

I like Stepan but I don't think he is a need. As other posters have said a trade like that would require another trade. Like a Duchene for Trouba move. And at the end of the day I would rather have Duchene than Stepan.

The exception trade that you will see Avs fans talk about is Draisaitl. Namely because I and many other Avs fans are very high on him. He could grow together with MacK as a one two punch and we'd move Duchene to MacKs wing. Drai and Skog on one line with MacK and Dutch on the other is just so easy to fantasize about.

But that ship has sailed also because that move would have facilitated signing Demers who is now signed.

I have used sarcasm 3-4 times, all in response to one poster, and that poster was not you. Using something a handful of times does not equate to "unholy amounts," and and considering it's not being directed at you, there is no way it should prevent you from responding. Stop being so dramatic. I'm not sure why I should bother giving serious responses when the lengthy and serious response I gave to you on page one, for example, just goes blithely ignored. You asked what it would take, you got told, and now you appear more interested in getting your feelings hurt about it.

Any and every smart phone, once you have corrected Duchesne to Duchene once, will remember it going forward.

If you constantly read the name Everly instead of Eberle and it happened in EVERY thread about him, or another player that you admire, then you would get sick of it too. Smart phones auto correct a lot of last names of a lot of people and yet it's only ever used as an excuse in the case of Duchene.
