Motte is not starting out the trip with the team. While the article says he MIGHT join the team on this 4 game trip, is this the opportunity give Elmer a look?

I would leave Motte home, even IR him and give Soderblom a very tough 4 game road trip look. (Panthers, Bolts, Stars, Flyers).

Somewhat tangent but your comment about giving Soderblom a look resonates with me:

I really don't like how this team is so opposed to giving its young players some cups of coffee. To me it is crazy that the Red Wings were in a spot were AlJo had run out of waiver exemption status and hadn't seen a single game. This hurts development and creates situations where we/the team doesn't really know what they have yet.

I can buy into not giving the kids a full time roster spot but Yzerman and Co. need to do a better job of getting these kids some games. Emphasis on some. They don't need to go crazy but getting these 21-22 year olds some exposure will help their development and help with decision making.

Depends on what they plan to do with Fischer. If he is getting Motte's spot and the call up is going to sit the box, call up Watson for that.

I would like to see Elmer get some run here, but he is quite the different type of player than Motte is, may not be what they are looking for.

It's Fischer 100% for Motte.

McLellan is just learning his players. He did came from scratch for this team. Please listen what the people are saying and stop the damn nonsense.
